Well, as I posted here a couple of weeks ago, I came through my colon surgery with excellent results - the cancerous polyp was contained to the area and there was not further evidence of cancer. No treatment needed - nothing.

Well, I'm 3 weeks out from surgery and my side began to ache. I went in today to see the surgeon and he ordered a CT scan which shows about a 3" "mass" on my ovary. I have to see my ob/gyn tomorrow. I don't know what to think.

If it was contained in your colon lets hope that the mass on your ovary is just a large cyst. Sending you good vibes to see you thru your appointment.

Try to not worry too much right now. My GYN tells me that Ovarian cysts are common in some women.

Please let us know the results. We are here for you all the time

I know its harder then is sounds but try not to worry. I was just in the ER with really bad side pain and they too found about a 3 inch cyct in left ovary. Unfortunately for me I am in chemo treatment and they cant do anything for it right now. I am banking yours is just a cycst and praying that is all it. Keep your faith and be strong, lets not try to worry to much until they give you something to worry about.

I also developed a large ovarian cyst some months after surgery. It was benign. Try not to worry.

I saw my ob/gyn today. He thinks it is related to the colon surgery - perhaps inflamation in the ovary - if so it will resolve itself. He is ordering the operative report and the CT scan I had done and next week will perform his own sono and then make a diagnosis. In the meantime he told me not to worry because he really doesn't think it's a cancer, otherwise something that large should have been seen while they were working on my colon.

Thanks for the input. I'm a mess - crying one minute then okay then next. I think I'm drained emotionally.

Paula, am glad the colon surgery went well, and sorry that now there's another thing you have to conquer. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. I know it's hard not to jump to conclusions, and waiting for more tests and results, but your ob/gyn is being thorough and if he said he really doesn't think it's cancer then that is a good sign and try to hold onto that thought. God Bless and keep us posted.

I guess when it rains it pours, Paula -

Hang tough. Hopefully they can get your situation resolved quickly. I am glad to see you came through surgery with no problems and you won't have to chemo! that's GREAT news.
