Prayers for my sister

Hi everybody. Its been a few months since I posted. To make my story quick, I was dx in 2005; had partial mastectomy, chemo; rads; no hormonal therapy due to the triple negative dx. I'm surviving. Going through one of the devils scare tactics right now with a bone scan. Anyway, my post if for my sister who was dx in 2000 and now has a tumor on her ovaries. She's still awaiting a biopsy to determine if its benign or malignant but she's frightened. Anyone had their breast cancer return as ovarian? Any stories of encouragement would help us both. Please pray for her and me. Thank you,

    Having close ties to family it seems would have mother and daughter or sisters fighting cancer battles together. I know it won't help to say but in the end I was very grateful for the fact that my grandmother had had breast cancer back in the day, early 60's and watching her being treated with cobalt back then was something that stuck with me my whole life. One reason I found the lumps I always checked from a very young age. Always saying how I couldn't stand it if someone I loved had to go through such a thing.
    I was 36 at time of my own stage 3 diagnosis. I always knew what grandma looked like without her breast and I look nothing like that, thank God.
    As it is, since we have had one form of cancer we are now not only at a higher risk of getting the same cancer we battled but now are also at higher risk for other forms of cancer. It is what it is. It has been ten years now that I have survived my ordeal and I often find myself saying how I have been to hell and back but only because of having cancer but also having an angry teen, I survived him too.
    I had several benign lumps in the other breast so had my second mastectomy, something I had wanted from the start. I have had ovarian cyst that burst but not a problem so they say, painful is all. One should stay on top of all the aches and pains because some of us have many, the direct result of being treated, not letting anything go on too long after a month and still bother us we need to go and get looked at.
    I think the only thing I could feel with every check being done is that while they are looking at me they will find something early if it were to happen. With our own health crisis going on there are literally probably one hundred thousand or more that can't find a family doctor so what early detection will they ever have??
    WE are living in a very good time with the money being spent on new treatments and the technological advances for administering treatments. I am grateful for every day and that is as simple as it has gotten for me after all these years.
    BEing good to ourselves is the first step in beating this disease.

    Hi Josie,

    A dear friend of mine had mets to her bones and liver and ovaries (they thought after a scan). When they removed the ovaries, the cysts were benign. The ovaries seem to be especially difficult to diagnose. That's why they do a biopsy. Often those cysts are benign. I'm sorry, I don't have exact stats, but I would guess (from reading) that it's probably more likely to be benign than malignant.

    Father You know who Josie is and her sister she has asked prayer for, I pray right now You touch them where they are and bring peace into their lives Lord, we come against all disease and illness asking for healing in Jesus name, Father let the Doctors have wisdom and guidance during any further testing and let them feel Your prsence. Jesus we claim healing in Your precious name, for You alone died that we might have Life, You shed your blood on Calvary and by YOUR stripes we ARE healed. I pray this in Jesus name, amen

    Oh, Josie....sending prayers.

    I had my breast cancer, after my colon cancer...don't know which came first...bc was in an 11-year-old lump, colon the docs said could have been growing for years. Sigh....I hate the waiting....give your sister a big hug from me!!!!

    So sorry to hear your news. Had Hodgkin's at 19 and bc diagnosed at 41. I know that I'll always have a close relationship with my onc. Hope your sister has a good relationship with her docs and that it turns out fine. Even though it looks like I might have gotten one cancer from the treatment of the other, I'm still here and am getting on with life.

    I'm thinking of you and your sister and hoping you get good news.
