Buck Naked in 2007?

OK, now that I got your attention :)

There is one more mention of Buck Naked further down and pointers to some very naughty photos. So read on!

It's been said again and again that early detection is the key to a cure. This is especially important for colon cancer. Time and again people are misdiagnosed because of their age. But, we know better, and how about let's band together and help save lives by spreading the word on early detection?

What I have in mind is to organize a running colon in the 2007 Bay to Breakers run in San Francisco. Uhm, I don't mean our colons running :) I am thinking about recruiting as many semi-colons as I can, plus my doctors, who knows, maybe even Katie Couric.

If you are not familiar with the Bay to Breakers race, please go to Google and check it out. Make sure you check out the pictures too! Let me just assure you that whacky does not even begin to describe this event! So we should fit right in :):) By the way, running buck naked on Bay to Breakers day is legal. Gosh I love San Francisco!

I am floating the idea early because we need time to organize and to train. You don't actually have to run. Lots of people just walk the course and make a day of it.

This event typically takes place early in May, so we have almost a year to get organized. Hmmm, and I definitely prefer that we don't go naked, coz it's cold in SF in May, among other reasons :):)

If you're interested, please let me know. I'll definitely be there.

Cheers,
Ying

I always thought it was butt necked but that might only be around where I live. We still need someone to host the spring 2007 colon palooza (the weather has to be nice for the snow bunnies).........maybe it could be somewhere close and we could do the Bay to Breakers run also (as an ex-athlete I think that would be way cool).

Don't you always have your colon???? I have what's left of mine packed just for emergencies (sorry, the sillies just overcame me...hehehehe).
How about each of us taking a different 'section' and wearing it printed on a red t-shirt?????

I think the cloathed option is good. After all, what we want to raise is awareness, not just eye brows, teehee, LOL.

    Hi Kerry:

I would LOVE to meet ya'll Texans! I will be here the last weekend in Sept. Let's definitely do talk when it gets closer so we can hook up. CAmaura is here too. We could have mini-palooza :)

I lived in TX for 17 years, went to Westwood HS and Texas A&M. So you guys are practically relatives!

Can't wait to meet you. I heard some many wonderful things about you from Kanga and Jen when they came through SF on their way back to the down under.

    Cheers,

    Hi Lisa P.

How'z about having the spring palooza right there in the sunny, ur, foggy San Francisco? There's so much to do there.

And, did I mention the nearby wine country? If you've never smacked your chops from the bouquet of a big-taste CA Zinfandel, girl, you're in for a treat. This is not that pink stuff , but the dark version which just screams "I am so happy!". OK, CAmaura, this is where I need you to chime in to back me up on this :)

Hmmm...did I forget to mention that Santa Cruz and Monterrey are pretty nice too?

Hm...and AmGen is headquartered here. They make the Nupogen drug which so many of us depend on to have WBC in order to withstand the chemo, and not fall from infections. They sponsor a lot of cancer fighting events, like the Tour of California bike ride earlier this year. We maybe able to go and visit and rub elbow with a big pharma, LOL. Dang, between all of us we paid enough for a free tour, LOL.

What's involved in running a palooza? I thought I'd ask before I sign up.

I think it would be wonderful to have you all here for the b2b run - hey maybe we can even get some news coverage! Howz that for spreading the word.

    Cheers,
    Ying

Terri - you are a hero for running the Komen Race! Hm..I mean a she-ro :) 64,300 strong is so impressive! I wonder how many more of people like you were out there - on chemo, not feeling great, but doing their best to raise the awareness and lifting the spirits of other survivors.

It would be my privilege to be able to run/walk the b2b with you!

I was gonna stop by Home Depot and check out the stretchy air duct material, LOL. Then all we need are some loops to tie it around our waists.

Now the only question is that do we want a healthy colon, or a sick-looking one - like one look at it somebody would say take that colon to a colonoscopy!

It would be great to have you here for the run!

    Hi Ying!

This sounds great to have a Palooza and spread awareness. With all of us crazy semi colons it would be a blast to be in the run/walk. I would probably walk and also with cloths. LOL. If we do this, we should all get T-Shirts for the run.

    Kathi:

The red t-shirt idea is great. Very practical and very do-able.

The only problem, what about that last section? Are we gonna have to do the short straw to see who get the end? LOL. Talkin' about the sillies. I need a seat belt on this chair please, LOL.

    You are just too funny!

    Giggling myself silly,

    Hi Lisa!

We semi-colons are such modest people. We all have these great scars to show off, and yet all of us are just to understated to flash them, LOL!

Lisa, worry not, we will do this, and will certainly have to have T-shirts to mark the occassion!

Hummmmm, could we get away with the 'A' word there???? I can think of a few non-semi-colons that would be the PERFECT candidates.....
    ROFL, Ying!

Hey Babs - You have gotta go to Google, punch in Bay to Breakers and check out the images! There are some modern day David and Adonis (NOT), but what-the-heck, they were all having such a nice time!

About our scars - I think that's a good message - getting an colonoscopy early is one way to avoid that big zipper on the belly ;)

That said, I think we will all be cloathed for other reasons - modesty, Kathi's red T-shirt idea.

Would you come run with us, babs?

    Cheers,
    Ying
