Howszitgoin guys n dolls????
The ozzies from down under have booked flights to Austin....that means...BRACE YERSELVES!!
Jen and I have been on the phone to Kerry and after her first week doing chemo and radiation she tells us that she is doing fine. (and she could be tellin lies too just to make me feel better!)
However, we all know she has the texan fighting spirit....and we are all wishing her the best. What concerns me is that Kerry and her hubby(didn't wanna wright his name here for fear of retribution..he may prefer to remain anon..lol!) are working hard to make the palooza a great event.
Now I need to ask you all to try to make a commitment as soon as possible to come and meet us all.I know Kerry is trying to get the best deal possible with several hotels in Austin for us and she will do that for us. There is strength in numbers and getting the best deal needs firm numbers to bargain with.
So c'mon yu'all............yu'all gotta be there!
(is my texan accent improving?....lol!)
Obviously it is difficult for some, what with treatments, appointments, finances, etc.....understandable. But if you have the slightest chance of making it please let Kerry know and ease her mind a little. Hosting this event for us even in good health would be taxing. As Kerry has still got 5 weeks of chemo and rads to do I am very concerned it will all be a strain on her.
Has this 'ol sentimental, emotional guy convinced you yet?
I will be away for a week now but when I come back I hope that some more names have been added to my hugging list!
luv yas all, Ross n Jen

    When is it??

CP-3 is April 27 - 30 in Austin, Tx. Some folks are coming earlier and staying later - whatever fits your schedule. There's lots to do here in Austin and it is the home of our very own Jose the CSN guy.

Committments this week will be guaranteed best room prices......opening night (Thursday, April 27 is a FREE dinner, drinks, entertainment and lots of hugs....so you can't beat that.

We would love to share some of this special time with all who can make it. For those of you who just can't but would like to feel a part of it, email me your home phone number or where you will be on Thursday night and we'll make a conference call to you!!

    Hi Everyone,

Hey, One of the great benefits of being a Semi - Colon is Palooza. Such a great time to celebrate life & friendship. Andy & I have our tickets bought arriving Austin April 25- May 1st. This we'll be our 3rd Palooza and were looking forward to it. Hopefully no bail money will be required.

    Cheers
    Lisa & Andy

Also it's snowing now " Big Time " outside.

    Hi Ross -

"Is your Texas accent improving"? Well, I don't know what it was like before, but...........

I lived in Houston for 13 years and before I moved there I thought the operative phrase was "yo'all" to, but actually it's much more of a "y'all"! That was a surprise to me. Another surprise was that it has a possessive form as in (said by waitress in bar) "Are y'all's drinks ok?" But you are getting warm and its an accent you can pick up after just a few days in Austin I am sure.

And of course...y'all is the singular form. "All y'all" is the plural form! We had to learn a whole new language here. Jerri and I have lived in Texas now for 19 years and we like it, but we still won't say "fixin' to..." I hope we'll see all y'all in Austin. Take care. Jimmy

Jimmy - I could never go all the way and get "fixin" to do anything either. But sometime around April 25, the real Texans in this group will be "fixin' to git on down to Austin and have fun at all y'all's colon palooza"!

    Betsy (Have fun!)

    okay,
What's a palooza? How does one get "tickets?" I am a semi-colon. I live 20 miles from Austin. I want to meet you people, but I don't know what ya'll're talking about.
My guess is that it's a meeting of colon cancer survivors and caregivers? But do I need to be on someone's mailing list? Or do only the "cool" kids get to go?

    Hi Cindy Bob,

    definition of palooza

an all-out crazy party; partying at one place with a ton of people like there's no tomorrow.

    Colon Palooza 3
April 27-30 hotel to be announced

The christening of colon palooza took place January 2005 in Biloxi Mississippi. You can check out my homepage for pic's.
The 2nd Palooza took place October 2005 in Las Vegas with a larger number of semi-colons attending. Kanort ( Kay ) reminded us so much of Mary Tyler Moore my son Andrew a short video. Check out Link Below: http://media.putfile.com/Mary-Tylor-Moore-Semi-Colon-Edition

Anyway it's an open invitation to all semi-colons, caregivers & spouces. Kerry will be hosting it so you can contact her. Hope to see you in Austin.
