Chemo Drugs

Hi, I just started 4 rounds of AC - have had 2 already, and then will do 4 rounds of Taxol or Taxotere. I'm wondering if the pattern of how you do for the 1st set of drug changes with the 2nd set. I haven't gotten too sick - have had stomach aches and cramps the 4th and 5th day, but by the 6th day am feeling a little better and the 2nd week feel pretty normal except being a little tired. I'm a little worried about how much that pattern will change when I start doing different chemo drugs. Can anyone speak from experience? Thanks!

    I found that each round of chemo was different. Chemo is progressive and sometimes the end treatments are worse than the beginning ones. I had 6 rounds of FAC: Round 1 was fine, Round 2 was the worse ever with 3 days of nausea and fatigue--feeling horrible, Round 3 and 4 were awesome - not any side effects at all, Rounds 5 and 6 were bad - many mouth problems and nausea. Round 2 was the absolute worse. So, each round may be different than the next.

    I had 4 rounds of AC and 4 of Taxotere. For me, the fatigue grew and grew. Towards the end of chemo, I was exhausted. I never got sick but I did loose a lot of weight because I chose not to eat much.

    Hi, everyone! I thought I'd share some very happy news. I had my last radiation treatment today and I'm thrilled. My tumor was ER/PR/HER+2 Neg so I'm not a candidate for hormonal therapy. I'm on the fence with that one since on one hand I feel a little unprotected and left out but the other hand I can't stand the thought of taking more chemo for the next 5 years. All in all, I'm feeling very good and for once don't have to see another doctor for a month. That's the longest I've been away from a Dr's office in the last 8 months. I'd like to thank everyone for all the help and support I've received from this chat line over the last eight months and I will certainly keep reading posts and supporting everyone I can. This is a life-long fight that we all will continue to fight together. Blessings to you all
