My spouse has mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer that is found in the pleural space. The affected area is the pleura of the left lung. He is on chemo and receives treatment every 3 weeks: A mix of cysplatin and Alimta. Just thought I would check in from time to time to hear other stories and what it is like to live with cancer.

    Hello,

You may want to do a search of the personal web pages. There you can do a search, using search words such as "mesothelioma." If you find someone that you would like to hear more from, you can then contact them through the CSN internal email system.

    Take care and be well,

    Hi Webgal318,
My brother has the very same cancer in the left lung. He is one of the lucky ones, he is a candidate for the EPP surgery. He is scheduled for the 5th of Nov. the sad part is that there's a 60% chance he won't make it through the surgery. Still, he is willing to take the odds.
The meds that your husband is on are supposed to be very good ones. How long has he had Meso?

    Hi

I was wondering how your brother is doing and how his surgery went. I know you were concenred and it is a very difficult surgery. My Jim passed in April of this year from pleural mesothelioma, he was in a clinical trial at NIH in Bethesda and did pretty well for a while. will keep your brother in my prayers.
