Friend with AML

Hi Everybody,
I am here visiting from the breast cancer board. I am a survivor of breast cancer with a friend that just got dx with AML.
Right now she is undergoing her second round of chemo because the first round did not put her in remission. Once she feels more up to it I will put her in touch with this board, but right now she is really not up for much.
Any suggestions and any additional goods sites that I may learn or direct her to.
Thanks so much.

You are a great friend to be getting resources ready for when she's ready to see them. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has tons of information and very active discussion boards. That's a good place to start. When I was in the hospital for induction several people got me fake flowers. Flowers can carry water born bacteria so they weren't allowed in my room, and I found it so cheering to see those fake flowers, so she might appreciate those. Little things like that make a difference. Good luck to both of you. You will both be in my thoughts.
