Endoscopic Ultrasound

My husband had his ultrasound today. The doc that did the ultrasound told us that the reason his rectal surgeon had requested this test following his colonoscopy Monday was because he felt a lump or thickening of the skin around the surgical location (removal of rectal tumor feb. 04). It seems our surgeon and this ultrasound doc have worked many cases together over the last 10-12 years. And just recently in the last two months they have had two patients (one five years and one seven years ago) that had the same type of surgery (transanal excision) my husband had and both have had the cancer return in the same location as their original tumors.
Anyway, after the ultrasound the doc told us that the thickness around my husband surgical area was just scar tissue. Thank God.... But I really am glad both his doctors are so careful and on top of everything going on. Now all we are waiting on are the results of the CT Scan taken Monday. We will get them next Tuesday. I pray God blesses my husband with good news and that he is cancer free.
Again, glad you guys are here. You sure make the days of cancer patient, cancer patient caregiver, and cancer survivor and caregiver easier to get thru.
God Bless.....

Wonderfull news Kay--see--'ol kanga told yah not to jump the bridge yet!Am sure all will go well with the ct scan too Kay.It is good to hear that your hubby has specialists that are so thorough--there is absolutely no substitution for being cautious--better the prevention than the cure.
