I had breast cancer and am now almost one year out from taking chemo and radiation treatments. I have been having a lot of pain in my feet right knee and right hip area. I called the dr we did xrays of the hips, blood and ordered a bone scan. My oncologist called me at work the other day and said she did not like what she sees on the bone scan but did not say what it was she saw.. She said the pain I am feeling on the right side and the feet is arthritis. She is talking about the left side. I don't feel anything at all. So she ordered brain xrays, pelvic xrays and back xrays. I have been a basket case for a couple of days. All I know is if it is matasised cancer, I don't want to do chemo again. If it didn't work the first time and the treatments were agressive, Today it feels like I really don't have the strength to do it again or do I want to do it again. I would like to look into alternative methods. I feel like my immune system is slipping away. Anyway that is the thought for today. Tomorrow I could be thinking something differnt because after all I don't even know what the final diagnosis is yet. I am scared.. but I don't feel as bad today as I did the last couple of days. Reading your story really scares me. Thanks for your strength, One day at a time.... I will remember that...

I am about one year out form chemo and radiation treatments. I just had a bone scan and my oncologist does not like what she see. Not sure what it is she sees. She ordered xrays for brain, pelvic and back. I am scared. I had 6 treatments of chemo (strong) and 33 treatments of radiation. If it has spread, I don't want to do chemo again. I am thinking about an alternative. I am so tired. Do you feel tired. My energy level is droping and I also have chronic pain from my feet and the arthritus in my right knee and left hip. What she is seeing is on the lift side and I don't feel a thing. Did your bones hurt. How did they find it. I am scared but I feel better today.

    derekbrag,

I'm sorry you are facing mets. You are not alone. I was devastated in Jan whe I was dx with mets to both lungs and liver. I wasn't sure at the time that I had it in me to start chemo again...I had just finished tx in May of 03. My cancer is very aggressive so I chose to treat it. Below is my history if you care to read it. I will be having a bone scan next monday...fearing it has spread to the bones. I have been having lots of back pain and find it very hard to sit for long periods of time.

    Warmly,

    Judie
