doctor said surgery was not possible. my dad is 75 years old. wonder for how many months can we "prolong" his life, given that surgery is impossible?

Betty: I am a 6 year EC survivor. I suggest that you go to Cathy's EC Cafe at www.eccafe.org. This site is full of information on EC and there is a link to an EC group with over 1200 members. Very active group with lots of support and answeres. Bruce

    Dear Bill,
My dad is currently battling esophageal cancer. It had grown into part of his stomach and spread to 13 lymph nodes in his lower abdomen area. He handles the treatment remarkably and when the PET scan was done it was all normal, but 2 lymph nodes showed up in his neck area that they didn't know about. What was the extent of yours? They are now saying surgery is no option for my dad. Now more chemo.
