My beloved wife (54 yrs) got two cranio surgeries to remove meningioma(2001 and last year). It looks like the meningioma has metastasized to upper right and on right temple. I am considering X-Knife or CyberKnife radio surgery instead of conventional cranio surgery. Can some one refer doctor/hospital providing this surgery in Houston other than MD Anderson(out of my insurance network). Thanks
agape.

my husband has had that proceedure. It requires being put into a halo for the day. screwing it onto the head it is quite painful even with local antitectic. then you get to sit in it all day. They will do an mri and give the physicist time to study it so they know where exactly to shoot the radioation, After they shoot the radiation, they take off the halo and you go home. Its pretty simple. The worst part is getting the halo attached. It works for most patients but it does depend on the location and size of tumor
