I have a dear friend who has Brain/Lung Cancer. What is it that I could possibly do to help her?

Hi Red. I have brain cancer, stage 4 glio blastoma. Not sure what kind of lung and or brain cancer your friend has. But as a caregiver, the most important thing you can do is just be there for your friend. That could be as simple as just being around, and listening.Or as difficult as providing assistance like feeding, cleaning, taking your friend to the Dr's appointments, or cooking meals.
Another important part that is vitial is staying positive about the cancer, no matter what. I know that from the positive energy my family provides me, helps me keep a positive attitude.
I hope this helps, and that your friend improves.
Keep them eating, and drinking, and getting out as much as possible. Human contact is another real plus.

God Bless
Tom

Tom. Thanks for the info, I am not sure exactly what type she has, along with the brain she also has lung cancer. Several years ago she was able to overcome liver/kidney. I know that she is not eating/drinking well due to the side affects of the radiation, her esophogas has been badly damaged. Within the past few days she has been admitted to the hospital and is currently in intensive care. I have told almost everyone today that she overcame it before and she is strong and we must remain positive. I just know that when I go to see her, I will break down. Thanks for your help.

Lisa, again I'm sorry that your friend is going through this, and you also. It is not an easy thing to do. But by you being there, it will give her hope and comfort. Just continue to encourage her, and keep both of your spirits up.. Speaking of spirits, I pray that God will comfort you and bless you, and that He will touch your friend giving her peace and comfort....

God Bless.....

I have fiberouscytoma . That is a type of brain cancer that is extremely rare. I had tons of people who were very close to me and at times helpful. Now, I have my son. My friends left me after time. Just last year my wife sued me for divorce and she won. She got everything. She got the kids college trust fund and she got the house I got nothing. I did also get diagnosed with MS. I also have bladder cancer. You have to live by yourself and hope that the world looks at you in a kind way. I should say your friend . Don't leave her. She needs you . Make very sure that your friend has the type of cancer that they say she has. They might be wrong. If so there could be another type of treatment. Be always on the defensive for her. They don't give her the love and affection that you do . Don't stop it because you are maybe the only thing left that she has to hold on to.
