What kind of pain do you mean? After 4 years I still have twinges now and then. They say there is nothing there, but it always makes me wonder. Could be scar tissue from surgery, weak abdominal muscles, something else? How's the chemo going otherwise?
The pain moves around. Sometimes it's on the right some times on the left. My doctor said I may have developed an ulcer from worrying. Today my stomach is really bloated.
I still occasionally have really bad gas pain, a year after ending chemo and 1 1/2 years after surgery. It started just after my surgery, and it was one of the first things I asked my gyn about when she did a followup exam. I couldn't believe had bad it hurt! A friend who also had OVCA had the same after her surgery, but I had given her a "heads up" on it. I wish my docs had told me-it hurt so much it was frightening!
Ask your doctor, just to be sure, of course. Don't be embarassed. I say that because I didn't want to talk to my gyn because I considered it out of her field for some reason!
I forgot to mention that my pain is always on my right side, and I had a colonoscopy a couple of months ago that showed that I have a little narrowing of the bowel on that side that probably causes the trouble.
I also have pain, the pain on my lower left never really goes away, the Docs say it is scar tissue. But I have it on my right side also and remember your surgery was major and chemo is HELL! It does get better but it seems most of us suffer from some type of after affect.
How is your chemo going? Counts looking good? Today is my 3 month checkup and I seem to always get a little nervous. Take Care and keep us updated. You're in my prayers Bonnie
My second chemo went well. My blood counts were good. My ca-125 was 16. I go back to the doc next week. So far so good. Thanks for asking.
Hope everything goes well for you with your appointment. I'll be praying for you.
Wow... 16 for a count and only second chemo.... good for you! Congratulations! Thanks for the prayers - I now have a CT scan on Monday - they are taking a look at the pain and the lymphoceles I have in my abdomen. Take Care & God Bless
