Lung spots

My husband's oncologist told us about his lung mets in late October - said they were multiple, in both lungs. I was too stunned at the time to ask useful questions, like: how many and how large, but I did ask about removal and biopsy. He told us there were too many for removal since they would have to take a significant amount of healthy surrounding tissue with each nodule and that would leave my husband with too little lung tissue. The oncologist recommended against biopsy because he said there was a risk of collapsing the lung or of dropping cancer cells. I had a friend whose son had a recurrance of cancer in his leg from dropped bone cancer cells, so that made sense to me.
