expander fashion

For any of you who have had expanders, did you wear anything but baggy tops while they were in? My are full, but are wide, rather than, shall we say - protruding. I look pretty flat-chested in anything. Any tricks or tips for wearing something else; I have so many summer tops and dresses that just don't look right and don't stay up!
