a few months ago, I was diagnosed wit multiple myeloma. For several reasons, I decided NOT to have chemo. or radiation. Is there anyone out there with the same circumstances. I would like to hear from someone else who has made this same decision for whatever reason. Thanks. Sonnitikki

I recently attended a conference in NYC on
novel treatments of mutiple myeloma. The resommendation now is to treat smoldering cases such as yours with Thalidomide and a steriod such as Prednisone. I personally went through the chemotherapy route and it did not help me at all. However, I have been on Thalidomide now for almost 4 months and my indicator protein is about normal and I fell wonderful. I would strongly suggest you discuss this therapy with your oncologist.
