Any one ever hear of Breast cancer recurrence after 43 years - this has happened to a family member of mine.

    Not that long but mine is 19 years & my onco says the longest he has come across is 29 years so you can never tell with this **** beast how long it will lurk in our systems. The trick is to rule it & not the other way around. Live like it's not there and kick it into touch (a NZ rugby expression) when & if it does come back. Love & hugs. Pam

    Did it come back in the same breast? If it was found in the other breast, it may not have been a recurrence but a new tumor. I know of case where person got new cancer in other breast 29 yrs after first mastectomy. Margaret
