Hot Flashes: Any remedies!!!!!

I had my hysterectomy on Aug 26th and the last week I've been getting major hot flashes. Hormone Replacement is out of the question since my Mom is in remission from breast cancer. I've looked online for herbs but can't use anything with estrogen. This rules out: Black Cohosh, Chasteberry, Flaxseed. I'm not sure about Dong quai, Red Clover and Soy. Can anyone help me with ideas?
I use a wet washcloth to help at night but it doesn't do very much. I live in FL which I'm sure doesn't help (it's still 90 during the day and humid).
Thanks for your assistance!
Sue

Hot flashes
Hi Sue,
I don't use hormones replacement either. I'm 44 years old and sometimes I get sweats at the middle of the night. I just use the fan on and use one sheet without blanket which I live in PA. I wouldn't imagine you living in Florida and it's making you feel hotter. Do you ever use air cond. or fan on while you sleep? I really have no idea if the herbs will help with hot flashes but it's a way of life when people are in menopause.
