A relative was recently diagnosed with metastatic cancer to the brain. Tumors are not very large, but memory loss is appearing. How common is this?

It all depends on where the tumor is, but some memory loss (especially short term) is not unusual. Another good site is the American Brain Tumor Association.

I now suffer from some short term memory loss, which means I've a tendency to repeat myself. I just warn others that it isn't because I wasn't listening to them, but that it's just one of the side effects of having a brain tumor.

Some medications and treatments will cause this also. A tumor doesn't have to be large to interfere with certain brain functions. If she's aware of it, it may be scary so just try to understand what's going on and search all the info you can. Definately talk to the Doctors!
