My dad developed anemia, his hemoglobin was at 10 during his Nader point. They just started him on Procrit and Neupogen. He is going on his 7th treatment, why did they wait so long to give him the procrit, would his red blood gone so low if he was given Procrit earlier?

More important than the number 10 is how your dad is feeling. My new normal is 10, and I am happy to be there! My docs measured whether the procrit was needed based on my symptoms like lightheadedness, lack of energy, etc. Keep speaking up when you don't think that something seems right, you and your dad need to be the best advocates for him.
