Hi,

Just letting you know that I came through surgery just fine. I am having a lot of pain because of the removal of my left breast, and the pain medication does not help at all. I am also dealing without a lot of nausea for some reason. If you have any suggestions for either problem, I would appreciate if you would let me know. Other than theses problems, everything is going ok. There were no signs of cancer in the 24 lymph nodes or the breast tissue that my doctor removed. The tumor was only .8 centimeters, so I am hoping that I do not have to take chemo. My prayers are with those of you who are taking chemo. I have done this also-four years ago when I had my right breast removed because or cancer.

    I'm glad your surgery is over and everything turned out well. As far as pain is concerned, talk to your MD. There are so many different types of medications for pain and nausea. There's no reason you should be suffering. Quality of life is sooooo important. Things will begin to get better. I hope you don't need chemo! Good luck! Keep us informed. Cathy

    I'm glad to hear that you made it through your surgery well. After my mastectomy I was experiencing nausea as well and determined that it was due to the pain medication. I could not tolerate the morphine drip or the percoset. They both made me very nauseous! The final compromise was a lower dose of percoset with a tylenol. The nausea went away and the pain was tolerable. Hope you feel better soon.
