Just read a story about a woman who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She decided to shave her head before chemo...to take control.

Her loving husband had his head shaved as a show of support.

As it turned out, the husband had a patch of agressive skin cancer on his now bald head. Doctors said that if it had not been found when it was he would not have been around by Christmas.

I share this because it illustrates that while a diagnosis of cancer brings many nevative things to our lives, in this case it and the gesture of support brought saving a life.

You just never know.

    Me too! Because of Rick's diagnosis, I had a colonoscopy 5 years before I was due for one - turns out I had a pre-cancerous polyp! I now need to have the procedure every two years for the rest of my life. But having this screening done early saved my life.
