My dad is stage 4. He was on chemo for about a year. Every 2 weeks. He has decided to stop chemo for alittle while. For several months, he has been spuratically getting sweating in the back of his head. Usually just one side. Sometimes, he doesnt even know it is happening, he just goes to scratch his head and finds that one side of the back is soak and wet, for no reason. He isnt exerting himself, He is just sitting on the couch. We asked onc and he says he has never heard of this. I was hoping someone out there had experienced this so he doesnt worry so much about it. Any advice?

    sweaty head
yep, i have that same thing.

the lower part of the back of my head sweats... to the point that my hair is wet.
and, it's not hot or anything.

It's almost like night-sweats. you don't know its happening.

I am 9 weeks into my treatments with Folfox 6, 5-fu, lucavorian and erbitux.
maybe the sweats are related to these similar chemo meds.

i never mentinoed it to my docs... as i don't think of it when i'm there.
it's like a minor hassle for me. I'm not too worried about the head sweats.

    i hope this helps.

    Head Sweats
Hi: I had really bad head sweats (all around hair line) that came on for no reason at all that I could see. I was in chemo - oxaliplatin + irenotecan + 5Fu.
They went away after I stopped chemo though.

mine were so bad I would
mine were so bad I would literally soak a pillow, hair would look like I just went swimming! Mine, I am sure, was a reaction to the pain meds I was on.

    Sweats
    Hi,
When I was in chemo and for about a year afterwards I got head sweats so much that the back of my head seemed to be permanently wet. I would also randomly just break out into sweats without actual heat being involved, internal or external. It wasn't like hot flash sweats; never felt really hot, just sweat. Other people in my regular chemo group experienced the same thing. I wouldn't worry too much.
    Hugs,
