We have talked about penis',vagina's, anal boils, farts, puking, castration, poop, peanuts, stool softener, catheters, colonoscopies, ostomies, life, death, and have done it as the drop of a hat, with little or the slightest whim of an ughh, nasty, yuck .…

Just a reminder
I noticed awhile back we had newbies on the board. However they were posting on story section and I didn't see too many comments. Maybe we are over looking that section a bit. The newbies are not always sure where to start out at on the board so maybe we can all swing over there now and then and direct them to the…

alive and kicking
This is to encourage you all; I had surgery in July 2001 for stage 3 (C) colon cancer followed by Chemotherapy. I am alive and well after over 9 years in spite of some sinister polyps having to be removed at colonoscopy in the last few years. I stayed in touch with CSN for some years but then my time was required in other…

Well, my, my, my.... such upsetting posts lately. Hubby and I have had only one car since 2005 and it has been very hard on me. Stuck at home, other than church, for weeks at a time. confidence and cancer
I’ve just been reading Kathryn’s Caring Bridge website, and Kathryn, I’m so sorry to read about how hard a time you’ve been having. It all sounds frightening, frustrating, and just plain bad. In one of your journal entries from the week, you wrote: “I lost confidence in my ability to deal with battling cancer, and couldn't…

Good news prior to surgery
My husband went in for a short colonoscopy yesterday so that his surgeon could check the effect of his five week radiochemo treatment. What a surprise ! No trace of his primary tumor could be found. They even gave us a picture, luckily they had marked where it was with ink back in October. So he's going in for surgery on…

Hope for newbies
I haven't posted for ages but this board was a lifeline when I was first diagnosed in February 2007. I've just had the results of my annual scan: ALL CLEAR! Such a relief ... I don't think much about cancer these days but once a year, when I have a scan, the Great Fear grips me once again ... After surgery I was told that,…

Been a very rough week
I went through the oxaliplatin desensitization in the hospital this week. That in itself went ok (with some frustrations, but no allergic reaction). But things got a lot rougher. I'm not going to write it all out again, but if anyone is interested you can read my spattering of posts to my journal this week (mostly today to…

My brother finally had a colonoscopy this week
I was dx'd 20 months ago with stage 3B colon cancer. 2 days after I was dx'd my identical twin sister had a colonoscopy- it was totally clean. I have 3 other siblings who for some reason would not. Truly, I think it is denial to the core. Like they would look at me and not hear a fricken word I was saying- wish I had a…
