Just found a lump
I was sitting here tonight watching TV. I reached for something and noticed that things didn't feel quite right. So I pressed around and found a lump in the breast where cancer was found in August. It's about an inch long and sore. Located in the upper outside quadrant. I hope beyond hope that it's an infected lymph node…

Pet Scan and MRI results!
Wow - I saw my surgeon and he gave me the results of the Pet Scan and MRI I had 12 days ago. They both showed the tumor had shrunk to less than half it's original size and that there seemed to be no viable activity in any of the cells. I am having a precautionary MRI tomorrow of my chest wall - he wants to be sure none of…

I lost my Mama
I know this site is for survivors, and I apologize for the dark tone of this message but I just have to get it out somewhere. I lost my best friend, Mama, and life force in May and I just cant recover. She was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer seven years ago. We attacked it. We were disheartened, but never hopeless.…

Me again! Did anyone have a reaction after the 1st chemo session?
Hi, Sisters! I had my first drip today of A/C. Shortly after receiving the meds, I developed a headache which she said was sinus related/side effect. Now I just feel like I have a mediocre case of Acid Reflux. I have been drinking water, and now I am eating crackers, but I don't feel that great. I ask because the nurse…

Herception
I just talked today to my onco and he told me that I can take herception for years if I want to. Is anybody taking herception more than one year and how is she/he doing? I am confused now because I thought that a year having the herception would be for a protection. How do I decide how long I will stay on it? According to…

Having my first chemo drip now!
Pink ladies, you were right! The fear and anticipation was worse than the actual process. Even though I have anti-nausea drugs, I am not feeling too great right now but I will remain positive. My extremely supportive brother is here with me, and I am sooo grateful! By the way, I had my pre-chemo party last night and it was…

I'm back on the merry-go-round
Last week I went to the rad. onc. for measuring, marking, etc. to starts rads to my T-12, L-1 vertebrae. My husband offered to come with me, but I said, no--I can do this, it's no big deal. Well, as soon as I layed down on the table and saw the familiar faces of the techs again, the flood gates opened and I cried like a…

My dutch day....
Typical Dutch day: Got on our bikes, checked out some flowers along the way, rode to a 2nd hand store with a restaurant inside. Admitting I haven't been here much lately. Completed 7 weeks of rads on December 1st, for my 2nd diagnosis. Between the rads-induced fatigue (more intense than the 1st time - 8 years ago) and the holiday season... well, I know you understand. You are all - always! - held close within my heart. My girls were removed 3 weeks ago, so I am entering my 4th week of being off work. I see the onc. next Monday. Will I be able to go back to work if I am on chemo or radiation? What did you do - what are you doing? Are you abile to function, and if so, to what degree? Here is my concern... if I go off of disability it will…
