Long Journey Ahead
I lost my mom when I was sixteen, the morning after Christmas...and even though now I am twenty, it hurts. I'm sorry if this is too much information for anyone out there, but...it's hard to talk about how I feel, what goes on because it's an alien topic to others. I don't want to burden my friends with this or my family. I…

Since April, I have had 3 different antibiotics, two bloodwork orders, and 4 urine cultures. They can't identify the bacteria, because they can't separate them in the lab!!! The most recent labs were Friday, so no results yet. Drinking water, cranberry juice and sleeping a lot more than usual. This just seeems ifffy to me.…

I am looking for others that may have broken a bone due to bone mets. I broke my humerus in half last October due to spots in the bone. I have had surgery and a pin put in. I still have discomfort at the sight of the break. More so after a lot of use. Sometimes it is sore to the touch. The ortho guy says I still have some…

NEVER CHEAT ON A COUNTRY WOMAN
A country wife came home just in time to find her husband in bed with another woman. With super-human strength, borne of fury, and cutting firewood, lifting sacks of feed, and bales of hay, she dragged him down the stairs, out the back door, and into the barn. She put his manhood in a vice and then secured it tightly and…

Grandmothers don't know everything--laugh
Tony was 9 years old and was staying with his grandmother for a few days. He'd been playing outside with the other kids, when he came into the house and asked her, 'Grandma, what's that called when two people sleep in the same bedroom and one is on top of the other?' She was a little taken aback, but she decided to tell…

Granddaughter--laugh
I was eating lunch on the 20th of February with my 5-year-old granddaughter and I asked her, "What day is tomorrow?" She said "It's President's Day!" She is a smart kid. So, I asked "What does President's Day mean?" I was waiting for something about Washington or Lincoln ... etc. She replied, "President's Day is when…

Vision cleared, nausea gone, slept thru the night....
So, I guess I'm on the 'good side' of my head knocking!!! I still have a headache, but I'm taking Ibuprophen for it, and it seems to hold it at bay! I was observed by a physician all the time since my 'accident' (my beau is a doc...lol), so I am very lucky that I didn't need the ER (I don't like that place, after how much…

Sunscreens rated by EWG...food for thought
I thought this site was very interesting re toxicity and ineffectiveness of many popular sunscreens. I am not sure how valid all of their information is, but I have switched to a less toxic sunscreen. I am using Devita for a moisturizer/sunscreen and I love its silky feel. I have ordered the Livestrong thinksport for the…

Happy Father's Day
I know this is off topic, but Happy Father's Day to all the dads and the moms playing both roles out there. So many of the fathers out there are not only dads but caregivers to someone with cancer. Their compassion, caring, love and support is so appreciated! The dual role of dad and caregiver is very taxing. Especially to…

Your Father smoked -
while your Mom was carrying you so you go through early menopause. I heard a story on TV that said that a study had been done that showed that women whose Father had smoked while their Mom was carrying them would go through an early menopause. Any thoughts? I went through natural menopause at 44. Mom had gone through an…

A good day - lunch with friends
While the ladies were lunching on the West Coast, here on the East Coast Missrenee, JK1952 and I had lunch at a lovely Greek restaurant. I have met both Renee and Joyce previously, but they only met today. We had nonstop conversation - well, it stopped a moment when we dug into the Baklava ice cream! It is most encouraging…

If you need a laugh, and who doesn't at this point, go to the following site: www.youtube.com and listen to Jeanne Robertson. Silly to be excited but......
I actually went to the optometrist yesterday evening and got the ok to be fitted for contacts again!!! She didn't find any lasting chemo effects and said I had enough lashes and tears to wear them. Yay!!! Gave them up at the beginning of chemo since I knew my eyes would be so dry and no lashes would be a problem. One more…

slightly humorous story
Disneyfan, I haven't had nearly the problems you've experienced, but here's a good one for you: I was having my second hysteroscopic polypectomy in less than a year when the scissor finger of the polyp clipper broke off, inside my uterus. I was asleep, but the doc told me afterward. She had to explain why the back of my…

Feeling Free Today
Yippee! I'm feeling free today!!! I was able to have my surgical drain removed from my body this morning and I couldn't be happier! If you have never had to have one, I hope you never will need one. They are so very uncomfortable, cumbersome to get around with and high maintenance to take care of. I was reminded this…
