Bilateral Mastectomy vs Mastectomy
I have one more Chemo treatment to go and then I may have to decide on a mastectomy or bilateral mastectomy I would like to hear what you have decided on and what to expect after the surgery. Also, if you have any great tips on how to deal with the loss of one or both breast would be appreciated.

Found indentation when I raise my arm...
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed an indentation in the same side as my lumpectomy. My lumpectomy scar is about 12:00, the indentation is probably 3:00. It's about an inch long, and the area is numb. Not tingly-numb, just numb. I do have an appointment for an MRI on Thursday so they can check it out. As soon as they called…

I KNOW It's 'for my own good'......BUT......
So, I happily went to my orthopod appt for my frozen shoulder, that I got while ice skating. He said, "This is such a typical injury, normally I would just give you a Cortizone shot, and that would be that. But since you are a double cancer survivor, I'm going to order an MRI first, just to rule out mets. You know, when…

Triple Negative Breast Cancer
I was diagnosed with a more rare form of breast cancer called "triple negative" which means my cancer is not fed by hormones therefore the only treatment recommended is chemo. I have already had a bilateral mastectomy and all my scans came back clear and my genetic test was negative. I thought with surgery and scans clear…

Finally did it!!
I posted a few weeks ago trying to gather information about post chemo hair and what to expect if I cut it. Well, I finally did it, cut off all my chemo curls and the funky white tips. It is now more of a pixie cut. I like it. It is super short again but now I don't have a mass of curls to deal with. I feel I can relate to…

Dental problems after treatments?
I have an absess and will see an endodontist Wednesday. It's a tooth that I had 6 root canals on about 11 years ago - or so the dentist says. Actually he says the infection is the same tooth, yet the xrays look perfectly normal. He says I'll likely lose the tooth and am looking at either a bridge or implant. Swell.…

Mastectomy on friday staying positive..
I know that all of you where praying for me and hoping for the best where I am concerned. My breast cancer came back in the same stop which my surgeon told me is not uncommon after a lumpectomy. there must have been some little nodes of cancer left and it started to grow. So with that note I am having a mastectomy of the…

After this last infection my doctor put a smaller implant in but the stitches would not hold because my skin is so thin due to all the radiation I had.

teresa41 - how are you doing?
Teresa, I remember your post about a month ago when you had decided to "take the bull by the horns," as my grandmother would say, and ask your doctor for something for depression. You were also on a waiting list for some counseling, I think? So how are you doing these days? Your "peeps" want to hear how you are, and what…

Along my incision line just under my left breast I am super red. Over the weekend and for the past couple of treatments I've been applying the Biafine salve they prescribed to me this past Thursday.
