Fear of Cancer Coming Back
I have been doing well since I finished chemo and radiation several months ago. My hair has grown back well. I occasionally have mental freezes, but other than that, I can't complain at all. I have found, though, that I still fixate on the cancer sometimes and worry about it coming back. When I wake up in the middle of the…

Little Neulasta survey, how many hours or days.....
How many hours or days did it take for you to experience the bone and joint pain? I have heard everything from 8 hours to 3 days, so I am just wondering what the norm is. I am getting the shot on Sunday morning and plan to go to church with my family if I am up to it. Second, how severe was your pain? I realize everyone…

1 chemo down, 3 to go!
My first chemo today (Friday) went well and I'm relieved that it's over. I am feeling pretty good tonight thanks to the anti-nausea meds and the steroids, though since 9 PM I have wanted to consume everything in sight, and everything out of sight as well! I have been warned of the crash coming probably Sunday or Monday…

Finished Chemo! Couldn't have done it without you.
I don't post often because chemo hit me pretty hard. I just finished 4 A/C and 4 Taxol dense dose. My fingernails are purple, no hair anywhere - not even eyelashes, very few red cells just to name a few side effects BUT I DID IT. I don't know how I could have done it without reading all the tips about drinking water, what…

medical bills
Wow, this is really shocking to see all these bills come rolling in!! Can I ask what everyone did once yours started? How did you find the money to pay all of them? Did you get payment plans? What did you do? Is there any help out there? The woman from the ACS said something about financial help but I was still reeling…

Leuprolide's effect on chemotherapy's ability to kill cancer-cells? References to research greatly
Hi everyone! Today I must decide if I should start taking Luprolide (brand-name Lupron) while I am on my chemo. Does anyone know of research papers in this area? I found a quote on breastcancer.org, http://www.breastcancer.org/tips/fert_preg_adopt/fertility/chemotherapy.jsp, saying that: "Ovarian function can be…

I am interested if there any others out there sick of going to doctors? For years my doctors must have thought I was wacko always something the matter with me and that was for years before actually having my stage 3 diagnosis at 36. After years of trying to regain the quality to my life I finally was able to quit going to…

Shout out to your favorite Doctor
When I started my BC journey back in October, I've been placed under the care of some very professional and caring doctors. Although I wouldn't trade any of them for another there is one doctor who had the ability to make me laugh all the time in those exam rooms. Dr. James Zasuly, my plastic surgeon is such a goof, of…

Un-wanted Attention - How to handle?
Good morning my sisters -- I hope you're ALL doing well. Today I go in for my third treatment. I wanted to write about an important topic. I think some - if not most - of you have gone through. When I was diagnosed, I only told a few people. I didn't want everyone to know. Wanted to keep it quiet so that I can save all my…

OT - So, the oldies station was on
as it almost always is in my car. Worked half a day, ran up to help my Mom, shopped, cooked, eetc. Then ran about 10 errands for myself. It has been very warm here, but with wicked thunderstorms & tornado watches (a few touched down) but certainly not on the scale that the rest of the country has seen. Anyway, it's a…

I'm quite discouraged in my weight loss journey.
My gyn suggested a weight loss plan his wife did last year with fantastic results. I see him tomorrow and I'm afraid I've only lost 2-3 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. I can eat protein and veggies and EAS (protein) drinks. The Prozac doesn't seem to be helping my awful hotflashes either. I've been drenched several times this week.…

out of my control
I live in an apartment complex with only one road. When you follow it about a block to the main road, you can turn either left or right. BUT...flooding in both directions has the road barricaded. All of the residents are either stuck in or stuck out of our homes. I am one who is "stuck in", so for the first time in 14…
