Has anyone ever quit chemo because it made them to sick to do anything?

Affects of radiation 25-30 years from now on the lungs/body.
I will be getting radiation to my right breast which will impact my right lung in the future. Does anyone have any experience with this? My doctor is, of course, just concerned about my health today and not as concerned what the impact will be in 25-30 years on my body.

HER2+ patient
Hello everyone. First timer here. Thanks for the board!! Finished 1st round of chemo; what a relief; starting radiation in a few weeks. How much more fun is that than chemo? Will appreciate all responses. Thank you. I know pic looks like a man but I am a woman. Can't figure out how to change it. Maybe latter.

Hormone Replacement Therapy
Surgery and radiation do not bother me, but I am concerned about being put on hormone replacement therapy. I am not used to taking any meds and it seems like the only resources I can find are people talking about the bad side effects from taking it. Anyone not have any bad side effects, or it is just common to expect side…

Why am I not afraid?
I recenltly got diagnosed with IDC Stage 1, I am 60 years old. I go in for surgery on August 12th, 2022 for a lumpectomy with adjacent tissue transfer and a lymph node biopsy. When I got the news my lump was indeed cancer, I tried to cry, but couldn't. I really don't feel anything, sad, scared etc... I feel the presence of…

2nd time down this path
Back in 2011, I had LCIS, DCIS and invasive. Had a single MX and did well for 10 years. I felt a lump earlier this month and my scan shows blood flow to mass in same MX breast. Tomorrow is my biopsy. I am nervous about this being a reoccurrence and having the blood flow. I fear that means that it has moved on to my lymph…

BRCA gene mutation?
I'm waiting for genetic testing results to find out if I have brca gene mutation before my breast surgery. Has anyone decided to do mastectomy rather than lumpectomy based on BRCA results. I'm interested to hear about your experience and your thoughts. Thank you.

Advice on skipping a treatment?
Hi all, I was told at my last chemo treatment that if I needed to I could skip the next treatment to give my body a break. I am receiving Paxol / carbo weekly along with ketruda every 3 weeks and this would be week 8 of 12. I have debilitating fatigue, just showering or walking to the bathroom does me in. Exercise and…

Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery
Hi All, I have been reading posts on this sight and have not yet seen this addressed. If you are about to undergo a lumpectomy for breast cancer, ask about the hidden scar breast cancer surgery. I am so fortunate that my surgeon was trained in this technique. When I look at my breast I see no evidence that I have had…

I got home from my lumpectomy/sentinal node biopsy about an hour ago, woohoo! As another survivor tod me, this means they removed the cancer with your surgery; the rest is just making sure it never comes back. This is such a wonderful way to look at it! I am so grateful all went well. Lab results come in Thurs on margins…

Surgery is tomorrow -- now cancer feels real
In responding to a very kind and supportive comment, I realized that I am freaking out because my surgery (lumpectomy, sentinal node biopsy) is tomorrow and it feels like surgery is making the cancer REAL. I started having this feeling in earnest Saturday, when I started having pain and weakness in my right arm after seed…

How do I support my husband/caregiver?
I am going in for a lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy July 5. We got my diagnosis -- DCIS, IDC, stage 1a, HER2-, ER/PR+ -- June 6, and even though this is a relatively "good" diagnosis, the doctor visits and consultations have been overwhelming for me. So has the simple fact that I have cancer. At all. My husband has…

I asked for a cat scan first. Before I dive in to this I want to know if and where its spread beside 4 lymph nodes! The whole plan…
