Tamoxifen Side Effects
Ladies, I am in my six month of taking Tamoxifen and third month of the Lupron Depot shot. Although I have not experienced a lot of hot flashes or night sweats, I feel bloated and have gained a few pounds. I considered myself pretty active before my diagnosis and watch my diet closely but still can't seem to drop the…

OT-My brother is doing better
Hi, I figured I would give a quick update on my brother. On another post Angie asked and I answered but the site went down and it didn't go through. He's finally passed his barium swallow test and is very excited to start to eat real food even though it has to be thickened for easier swallow. It's still food because he has…

who on this board has mets??
I have been busy with work and have not been able to keep up with the postings. It seems almost everyday someone else discovers they have mets. I would like to hold a weekly (or possibly a daily) vigil for our dear sisters who are dealing with treatment and in particular those with mets. hugs Mariam

I met Carol (Camul) today!!
She is delightful: smart, funny, lovely, kind, and, yes, a tad sarcastic (that's my favorite part:) We met in Carlsbad on a beautiful sunny day and had late lunch/early dinner and we talked and talked. My new avatar is a picture of the beautiful flowers she gave me. Thank you, Carol, for a wonderful afternoon. xoxo,…

Taking A Count: (of pain)
Do you have pain in your hip, wrist, or arm? Which side? Do you have pain elsewhere? Did you have chemo or rads, or both or none? Does medication take away your pain? --- I have a lot of pain deep in my right hip and some pain in my right wrist, but only when I twist it like when removing a bottlecap. I had a masectomy on…

Please remember - we are each UNIQUE!
I have recently noticed that there are many new here. It seems that often there are a lot of statements "This will happen" because that's what I did/what I experienced. We are each so unique - we can only give our experiences - not that whatever we have experienced will happen/not happen to anyone else. Winyan - The Power…

Humorous Events
Because laughter is healing and relieves stress, do we all have something we can look back on that was a bit humorous? My story is that I stuck my cell phone down in my bra one day when I had too much to carry at the library. After I sat down, I couldn't find my phone and went to the librarian (a young man) and asked him…

Our dear New Flower - what a gift she is to us
We, my daughter and I met with New Flower in SF last night. It was such an honour to meet her, she has so much composure, strength and courage and beauty. Looking at her you would never know the real truth, that NED is cheating on her. We really enjoyed spending the evening with her at funky little restaurant called Sinbad…

Post Mastecomy Pain
Hello. I had a double mastectomy on April 3, 2012. I'm lucky...no radiation, chemo or hormones. I am having a lot of pain though....mostly under my arms in my chest area. My doctor just says this is part of the healing process but I don't know. It hurts worse each week and it hurts worse at the end of the work week than it…

As I read so many of you posting about your Pet Scans, I can't help but wonder why I've never had one?? I would like to call him today but I'm afraid I would start crying so I just emailed him an apology. Long Term affects of radiation?
Hello, I am preparing for radiation for the first time and am having serious doubts. I know their are people who get through radiation with minimal side effects, however many may not realize that not all radiation is the same, there are different types, different doses and their are many variables. I would like to know if…

Stage III breast cancer
I was recently diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. PET scan shows no metastasis beyond the lymph nodes removed at surgery. Would like to hear from others with this diagnosis of Stage III. Had one chemo session three weeks ago and another scheduled for this week. Anyone out there who can talk to me about this? Thanks.

Having exchange surgery Monday morning
I started this journey last July at age 44 when I was diagnosed Stage 2, Grade 1, er, pr+, 2 nodes with traces of cancer. I underwent a double skin/nipple sparing mastectomy followed by 5 rounds of taxotere and cytoxan and 33 radiation treatments to my left side. I had some scares along the way that turned out to be…
