Hi, new to this board.
I am not sure yet if I have Ovarian cancer. I had oral cancer and just recently got my 2nd pet scan to make sure it was all clear. The results came back great for my head and neck, but not so great for my ovary. I just saw my pcp yesterday about all the pain I've been in, my lower back, hips legs, etc. She suggested I talk…

She had a recurrence in Sept.2011 and started back on carbo/taxol. After first treatment her Ca-125 dropped but kidney function was affected. Since she only has one kidney her…

2nd recurrence
My cancer returned after 8 months of being cancer free. Just had my follow up appointment with the oncologist after completing 6 sessions of chemo. The CT125 is 8 and the CT scan is clear. The oncologist said that when, not "if" but "when" the cancer returns again, that it will be in a shorter period of time. Has anyone…

Is it rare to have normal CA-125 reading , at 17 or so and still have ovarian cancer?
Is it rare to have normal CA-125 reading , at 17 or so and still have ovarian cancer? Reason being, I have had BC and went to have a check up since I hadn't had a pelvic in years ( due to hysterectomy , though I still have one ovary and one fallopian tube)and was having "symptoms" that scared me. Pelvice was normal as was…

I don't have many details, but my daugther's sister-in-law is due in February and has just been diagnosed via biopsy. I only know it is a gynecological cancer, but don't know which or what stage. Her doctor says baby is doing well, and there is nothing they can do regarding the cancer until the baby is born (C-section). At…

Symptoms, symptoms, symptons...Maybe TMI
I know that once diagnosed, treated, and found NED, it takes the body a long time to heal. Some incidents though just make you want to run for the hills. My big symptom that I ignored was constant contsipation and painful gas. During chemo and right afterward finishing my digestive system was a mess. For the past few…

No more chemo
Well, we got the bad news today. No more chemo. The onc thinks her tumor load is large enough that it can't possibly do any good for her. Her counts are really bad, hemoglobin and platelettes both down a long way and that's without chemo for three weeks, and having blood and iron. So, we have no idea how long, probably…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL
I know that things have been rough for so many of you. And without a doubt we all have had enough sadness and losses in the recent months to last a lifetime. But as always, there's still something, somehow to be thankful for. As I count my blessings this Thanksgiving (as I do every 'ordinary' day as well), I wanted to say…

I finished my first taxol/carbo and the neulasta and had no idea the shot would make me hurt so much later because my sister who had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma had the shots and they did not hurt her. She finally let me in on the fact that she was on morphine at the time. I was taking ultracet but finally had to start percocet…
