folfiri + avastin - break after treatment #14
Hello everyone - I will be having a one treatment break after my 14th folfiri + avastin. For those who have been on folfiri, did you have a treatment break and for how long. I really feel that I need this - having basically every 12 days (after 5Fu bottle comes off) does not give me much time to recoup my system - go back…

Scan results are in...
After finishing my husbands 40th chemo treatment the Dr. gave us the news. After a year and a half on continuous chemo a few nodes (mets) have grown. Good news is not by much. One was a size 5 mm, now 7.5 mm and another was 4.5mm and now 5.5mm. These nodes layed dormant for so long and now there is some activity. The Dr.…

Her first round of Chemo was last Wednesday and didn't go too well. Lots of vomiting and diarrhea. Friday she was given 2 liters of fluid and…

This is my first time on here and I was diagnosed with rectal cancer back in October and had my surgery in November, then I had my reversal surgery on February 27, 2017. It has been challenging to say the least. I'm hoping to get some advice from people who have gone through this to see what steps they have taken. It just…

What is going on?
Hi everyone, I decided to post on here because I'm not getting any answers and I feel like I could use some advice from those with experience. So, back in August I started noticing an increase in my bowel movements. I used to have one a day, usually in the morning, and then it started going up to 3-4. I didn't think this…

Bathing while on Folfox
Hi, just had my first Folfox go around this week and am seeing several of the symptoms mentioned here. A little discomfort with the first bite, and a definite sensitvity to cold water and air. A breath of 40 degree air outside set my scalp tingling and even slightly cooled water on my hand set them both to tingling. So, I…

Getting brain surgery
well I had a rough headache for over a week with unsteady walking. Onc suddenly made me go to the ER after keeping them informed. Well. I have two mets on the Basie of my brain pressing on my ceribelum (I think) and my spinal cord. So Monday I'm having brain surgery for those two. I have eight other small mets but they are…

Frequency of scans
How often do people have scans? I had posted awhile ago wondering if I should do xeloda. For a variety of reasons I decided against it. I thought I was told I would have a CT scan every six months initially but then the oncologist said annually. That seems like a long time. I have an appointment at the Mayo Clinic for an…

Hi all, So far, four chemos in, i have managed to keep a good deal of my hair. I'm going to get clip on extensions to try to fill it out. My issue is I am not a natural blond. I'm okay now, but am scared to dye my hair in case it all falls out or does some damage to me. What have all of you not natural blonds who have so…

Has anyone here had their colon cancer metastisize to bone? I am a formerly stage 3 colon cancer patient who has previously had reaccurances in my liver and lung each followed by surgery and chemo. Movies and Book w/ People Dying of Cancer
This has bugged me for some time. I feel like it's kind of a cop out. An easy way to get sympathy for a character and to make a movie sad. We watched the new one about aliens the other night, Arrival. The main character's daughter dies of 'something' but she's bald when she dies so it's obviously meant to be cancer. I…

Dry mouth from chemo
My mouth during the night is so dry, (I'm talking no saliva at all) , that it actually wakes me up 5 or 6 times. I have water at the bedside and I drink that when I wake up. I tried some of the biogene products out there but hated them. I rinse my mouth with salt and baking soda during the day. Anyone have any suggestions?…

Colon Cancer and Positive for Lupus?
Anybody else have this? I've been positive for lupus for about 8 years that I know of, probably before that but I hadn't been diagnosed. I've never had any symptoms beyond the finger pain that I first went to see the doctor about. But now that I've had this skin situation with first the huge hives/welts and then the…
