Have posted a few days back on learning of my mother's diagnosis of rectal cancer and now are going through the stages of emotion and terror with many questions on what the future holds for our family. I am going to deliver her grandson in October and I so want her to be there for me and the birth as well as for a long…

Well ladies and gentlemen
Well ladies and gentlemen. The brain thing did turn out to be metastasis but it was still very small and caught early. It's a good thing that I was having the symptoms I was having or it could have gotten really out of hand before it was noticed. I love you guys and will update later. Eric

FOR THOSE WE LOVED AND LOST
1: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2: He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3: He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art…

Dodged a bullet
But the gun is still pointed at me. My second lymph node biopsy came back same as first, negative. Just swelling and lymph tissue. They were all enlarged from top to bottom and active on Pet scan back in March but there appears to be no Cancer. They took one out in the groin three months ago and one in the armpit last week…

Not bad news
I got my CT results back today. Most of my tumors have grown over the last 6 months but only by about 10%. I have a new tumor and 2 tumors have vanished. The tumor growing toward my kidney has not grown while the other larger tumor in my liver has remained relatively stable. My Dr was happier than me. He thinks that at my…

Just thought maybe it was time for something good. Some of you all know that I was supposed to get married to Nick last October, plans made and all cancelled at the last moment. I told you that his law partner had been dx'd with breast cancer, and some of you already knew that she was his not-yet ex-wife, we delayed the…

Facebook
You know, I have been losing more friends on Facebook through death....I would much rather lose them because they "unfriended" me due to my speaking without a filter and merely offending them... For those of you still active in the battle...stay strong. For those of you with many years of NED on your resumes,…

Death, I'll say it again it's about that dreaded word Death
It wasn't cancer, oh no, cancer did not claim another life today. It was plain and simple "old age". I hesitate to say this, because I wonder, including myself, how many of us will be able to ever claim that as our cause of death. Richard Zeiler, brave soul that died today, had only two people left to care about him, my…

It's been a year since my NED and I go the doctor on Wednesday to check my blood. Today was a weird day, I slept all day. I wandered from room to room and just feel asleep. xeloda holiday
Hello, I'm new here today. I have been taking xeloda for about a year and thankfully the many tumors in both lobes of my liver continue to shrink. My new oncologist thinks I should have a 2 month holiday to allow my body to heal, get blood counts back up and also she tells me that over time, my body will develop a…

CEA went from 1.9 to 3.8 in 4 weeks--can it mean anything but recurrence?
My CEA just went from normal 1.9 to abnormal 3.8 over last few weeks. Seeing oncologist tomorrow, but wondered if anyone else had similar experience and it turned out NOT to be a recurrence. I've had primary tumor & liver met resected; I have three more post-surgical chemo treatments scheduled and was feeling that maybe…

And you guys wonder why I call her scary old woman!!
Today is my last normal day for a while. We will go to STL tomorrow morning and stay at my sons and do pre surgery prep there. We have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am the next morning. Lot better then getting up at 3 am and driving from here worrying about prep sharts for a damn 100 miles. So the scary old woman says to…
