Hey all of you semi-colons, Hope you are all doing well today. I was interested in starting a list of odd side effects that your oncologist is seemingly unable to explain. The rollercoaster
Hello everyone, I got up today after a very sleepless nights which seem to happen with some regularity. I woke up achy, tired and anxious. It is strange the thoughts you have while you lay there awake, negativity creeps in. I had my 3 month tests done last week-ultrasound, xray and bloodwork. Up to yesterday, I had a…

My dearest family...
Well, one of the lessons cancer teaches us is that we need to live each day to it's fullest, because we never know. My beau's mother passed away last night. She was almost 86, and doing remarkably well. She was a holocaust survivor. And lost a son to an anyurism when he was 15. She was a grand lady, and I will miss her…

recurrence again?
As cancer patients we all hate and afraid to think of the word "recurrences". Last April I had second liver resection, the first one was in February last year, and I was diagnosed in March, 2005 ,3c. Both time the doctor said the word " curative". And now my CEA is from 0.8 to 2.3 in three weeks ( my highest CEA# was 14).…

Anti-oxidants and their effects on chemo....???
I have been reading so many opposite views when it comes to the level of antioxidants someone takes in while going thru chemo treatments. Has anyone been told one way or another by their Dr. or Nutrionist about an effect anti-oxidants can have during chemo and if they help or hurt? Thanks & Be Well....

Another Crossroads & Hard Decision
Guys, If I wasn't living through this I wouldn't believe it myself. Won't go into the whole story, but those of you who know will know what I'm talking about. After an ultrasound yesterday, it's been decided they cannot do a biopsy yet on the liver spot for my husband. It's too small at this point and not safe to do. Pet…

Ears are Ringing Since Chemo
Hello all, I can't remember if I posted this here already but here ya go anyway. Midway through chemo (about 15 months ago) I developed a ringing in my ears or tinnitus as it is called. I get occassional ear aches and seem to be prone to the odd sore throat as well. The ringing seems to be mostly constant with very little…

Laugh for the day
Well, here's something that made me chuckle. I had been playing outside with my 2 young grandsons this morning. A little later, the older one said, "Nanny, there's something on the back of your pants." Oh, no. Did I have an accident and not know it? Had I started bleeding again? I ran to the bathroom and was literally…
