I was then scheduled to have a sterio biopsy 3 days later but they were unable to do it as the calcs are too far back…

I'm back!
Oh my gosh, it's been 3 years since I've posted. Once my computer broke, I never replaced it (until now). The last couple of years have been filled with work and helping my Mom care form my Dad. My father passed away this past December 2016 and I've officially retired from work after 36 years. I'm happily helping out with…

1st Chemo on Thursday
OK, so I got my purple power port this past Wednesday and I go for my first chemo treatment this Thursday. To say that all of this has been going quickly would be an understatement. And I'm just bursting with questions. I have all my meds for home set up, including clairitin, numbing cream for my port, 2 anti-nausea meds…

Comfy list: trying to make your daily breast cancer experience a little better
Hi all, I am 32. I was diagnosed in April. Went through double mastectomy and am about to finish chemo. Breast cancer was devastating for me. The hardest part for me was that I feel like no one prepared me to life with cancer, especially not how to make my day to day life comfortable. I felt like doctors didn't care about…

Tamoxifen
Well, I finished radiation this week and all went very well with no issues at all. I am very happy to have that behind me. I have some other medical issues that need to be addressed while undergoing this treatment, so I may have to start on Tamoxifen before going on an AI . Has anyone had experience with Tamoxifen? I am…

Nausa, headaches, and sore throat
My last treatment was July 20 of this year. I stayed nausus (spell) that whole time with sore throats and headaches, general body aches, joint, muscle. Fatigue. blah blah blah all the SE you get from treatment. But now it has been a little over a month and I am still doing all this stuff. I know part of it is from the Als…

Getting my port-a-cath in the morning
Hi all! I'm super nervous about getting this port-a-cath. Everyone I've talked to has told me how much better it's going to be going through chemo with the port but I can't shake the anxiety. Everything seems like it's all moving super quick and I think that may be the main source of my anxiety...but it's focused on…

DIEP with excessive abdomen swelling
Hi; i had a DIEP procedure 6 months ago. Of the surgeries I've had so far, tha was the worst. My plastic surgeon said that I didn't need to wear any type of binders. I'm healing well but my lower abdomen is very swollen. I can't wear anything that I could wear before the surgery. I went to my original PS and then a new one…

Three more sessions to go! I can't wait to be done with this. So far, no real problems at all. This is the first part of the treatment that my body has tolerated well. muscle twitching long after treatment
It has been 8 months since I finished my AC-T chemo treatment, I had my port removed and finished the remainder treatments via IV and 6 months since radiation, I have developed a muscle twitch near the elbow in the same arm as I had the remainder chemo treatments. Is this anything anyone else has experienced.

Biotin success after taxotere - yeah!
I had finished my chemo in November 2015 (taxotere and cytoxin). When my hair returned, I was satisfied with its progress. Then I was given Armidex in July 2016 and switched to Femara(Letrizole) because of SE. Sadly I began to see the crown of my head get thinner and thinner. I added Biotin to my pillbox for each day, and…

I just got the results from my biopsy a week ago and I'm scheduled to meet with the surgical team in 3 more days. All I know at this point is that both needle core biopsies as well as the lymph node biopsy have all came back positive.... Ductal carcinoma. I'm absolutely terrified. I've decided to not tell my family (mom,…

What to ask when nurse calls with biopsy results?
I had a biopsy done last Thursday and expect a call from the nurse early this week about the results. The diagnostic mammogram states in pertinent part "...clustered small amorphous calcifications spanning 2.3 cm are seen...." These are increased in number since the previous diagnostic image of October 2015, hence the…
