Your thoughts on BRAC test-
Ok, I'm trying to understand...If the BRAC test is negative you do not need to have your ovaries or the other breast that does not have cancer removed? I'm trying to research now because my big question is do I need to have my ovaries removed and the breast that does not have cancer- I'm trying to find a way to have peace…

First Mammogram post treatment.
Hi - not looking forward to this, after all those mammograms are a bit painful under normal circumstances for me, but since my breast seems swollen and sore most of the time I am concerned with the level of pain I will experience. Yes, I think I am being a baby about this, but would like to hear from others how their first…

Loss of appetite
I went to the radiologist yesterday for tattoos and breast cup sizing and I go for radiation simulation next friday and start rads on March 7th. I am dreading it so much because I am afraid of the side effects. The brochure they gave me said that some people loose their appetites. Has this happening to anyone here?

Sharing Best practices: How do you get better after treatment
It is a very important question for survivors: How to get better physically and emotionally after treatment. While hormonal therapy is still a treatment, but in public in views surgery, Chemo, and Radiation are the active treatment. 12 months since I finished radiation I am still trying to get back (will I ever?) to what I…

A little info, and a plea for extra prayers
Hello all my sister new and old. I know that I am not known by our new sisters but I am by the ones who have been around for a while. Anyways, I am here because I need to vent a little. I started chemo in Nov of 2008 and started my period the same day. Perfect example of Murphys law. I finished chemo in May of 2009. I…

Is it ever alright to feel sorry for yourself??
That is my question of the day. Can you ever feel sorry for yourself without fear of reproach? Fear of rejection? Without having people turn away because they just don't want to hear it. And when you try your very hardest to "get over it" because there are others in the world who are worse off, but you can't seem to shake…

Question on Rads
I have my second round of chemo today. (XALODA, TAXOTERE). I will have CT scan schedule after this round on Mar.10 to see if this working. By the way I have a liver mets. So, I've asked my onco if I will have a rads after chemo and he said he don't know yet, maybe not likely since they took all the lymph nodes 16 positive…

Thank You Wonderful Ladies
You pink sisters are some of the nicest, most caring people I've ever met in one place. Maybe it takes huge hearts to deal with BC. Not maybe, I'm sure of it. I want to thank all of you for your thoughts, good wishes and concerns for my trip to NC. I'm feeling much better than I did the last 2 weeks. I'm packed and ready…

Stage 1, 1.6cm tumor, invasive moderately differentiated ductal carcinoma with extension to margin of specimen (margins not clear), with…

Debilitating feet sores
Has anybody endured redness, swelling, blisters, pain on the sole and heels of their feet? So bad you cannot even walk? Similar to hand foot mouth disease? This is side effect from AC chemo cycles. I had 4 of those and just had my first of 4 Taxols. The pain is so bad the dr is prescribing me some oxychodin. I've tried…

I was scheduled to have my port inserted next Monday morning with my first chemo that same afternoon. The chemo has been rescheduled to Tuesday afternoon. Any thoughts on the port surgery?
