Do you ever stop thinking it's cancer again?
Hi. It's been almost 2 years since my diagnosis, surgery and treatment. It took a half of a year after the treatments ended for me to be able to see a future, to get rid of the doom and gloom that what I went thru caused me to feel constantly in my life. Recently, I've been having some aches and pains that do not seem to…

Staps!! Any suggestions?
My real question tonight is about bras. Have left mastectomy and use a regular weight prosthesis. However, during the day the bra band drifts ever so slightly, and slowly, in the diection of the remaining breast. So, after a few hours the strap over the remaining breast is falling down-I pull it up, falling down, etc. The…

Re: New to this site, Need a friend
Hi Venetia, Am so glad you found this site. I had mastectomy a year ago for stage II breast cancer. You are so wise in seeking support from others who have "been there, done that". Psychologists and the medical community know that there is no substitute for that kind of support. I hope you can come often to this discussion…

Walking 30 feet exhausts me ...
I just finished chemo about 3 weeks ago. And the worst thing (besides the weepy eyes) is that any distance greater than about 20 feet just exhausts me. I haven't always felt this way. Just after chemo. Is this normal to have your muscles feel so heavy? I thought I'd be getting over side effects, not creating new ones. I…

I was diaginosed with intraductal carcinoma (which I believe is DCIS) at the beginning of the month. After another biopsy the surgeon will make the decision if it's a lumpectomy or masectomy. Breast implants: saline vs body fat
Coming to the end of my chemotherapy at the end of this month and looking forward to it. Back in August '03 when I had my left breast removed, my surgeon then, recommended that an expander for saline implants be placed for reconstruction to prevent other incisions on other parts of my body for getting fat tissue and for…
