My Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal cancer on January 12, 2012 after having his 2nd EGD performed; however the 1st EGD was performed a year earlier in 2010. This showed an erosion. We were not properly informed that an erosion could turn cancerous....the doctor only suggested meds to help with my dad's symptoms…

Inability to Digest - How Common?
Hello, My Mom just finished her 5 weeks of rads and weekly chemo this past Tuesday. She is really "feeling it" now. She is absolutely unable to keep down anything. She can swallow o.k., but I guess once the food hits the esophagus/stomach junction it just sort of builds and then has to come up. This morning she tried to…

Internal Radiation Boost - First round
Over two hours for her first internal radiation. Two nurses came to the lobby and took her. That's the first time I was not with mom for a treatment (of any kind)! I felt strange not going with her through the door. She went in using a walker and came out in a wheelchair. She said "it was awful". She went straight to bed…

I hope nobody minds that I am asking this question but I think my present problem is related to all the antibiotics I was given during chemo and also the fact that I am post esophagectomy. I was diagnosed with early stage 2 EC in May of 2011. Had radiation and chemo all summer including two treatments with the drug…

Cancer at the base of the tongue
I have recently registered with the CSN and noticed there was not one mention of CA at the base of the tongue. good news
I wanted to share my great results from my CT scan. Praise the Lord, after 4 1/2 years I'm still cancer free! I pray for everyone on this board, that the next test they have will be good. It's so hard to learn about a new diagnoses, or a reoccurance, but I as a survivor know that things can change fast, and I thank God for…

Not good news for mom
Mom's CT/PET scan were not as we hoped. The cancer is in her nodes and there is a spot (not the word the doc used) in her back. He suspects that is what is causing her such bad back pain. Seems the chemo/rads did not work as hoped. Also, her pain meds are no longer effective, so he has upped the strength of her morphine.…
