I'm starting to really hate steroids.
I took my fifth treatment yesterday. I could not settle down last night or this morning. Woke up several times during the night sweating (of course, those wonderful hot flashes). Now I have no energy. I stay so hungry after treatments. It's hard for me to understand why some people take steroids by choice. Guess they like…

My team had 20 people (aunts and uncles, cousins, siblings, my daughter, mom and husband). It was our first year and now that…

Hi Loves, Just coming back from two weeks of chemo haze. Week one gemzar/cisplatin and week two gemzar. I've been doing this for the past 21 months and believe it or not, it's beginning to feel routine. The good news is that my Ca-125's are holding so steady that I'm now going to be able to take some schedualed "extra…

Need some help to decide the best port to ask for
I decided I need to see the surgeon about my port, it's not getting any worse, but it's not getting better, even after 18 days of antibiotics. When I originally had my port put in, the surgeon didn't tell me of different kinds. The one I had was a portacath and I always found it to be somewhat large and bulky (in fact the…

Metformin is used for polycystic ovarian syndrome & for type 2 diabetics. Here's more interesting information on metformin. A rare bit of good news to share: CA125 dropped 9,309 points in last month.
I'm weird about CA125. Once mine went up into the thousands, I refused to worry about it. But when I get a big drop, I DO celebrate it, because good news related to my disease progression has been pretty darn rare for me this past year of my cancer journey. So I had to share this, even though I just don't know what it…
