Question for Clamryn (Linda)
Hi Linda, thanks for responding to my question about blood pressure medicine and Avastin. I'm really happy to hear that you're doing so well on Avastin. How fast did the Avastin start to work on you? I started on it end of Dec. 2010 along with Cytoxan and in March, there was still some tumor increases. So, the doc took me…

Hello ladies, Mom began her third line treatment of Doxil April 21st. She goes for her second treatment May 19th. Yesterday, we noticed Mom's stomach has really shrunk the last few days. I know I am grasping at straws but is there any chance the chemo is starting to work?

Not Diagnosed but have questions about symptoms
I am not sure if I am on the correct board but I was unable to find answers to my questions anywhere else. I am 54 years old and post menopausal, had a hysterectomy at age 32 for pelvic congestion, I had varicose veins coming from my left ovary, removing my uterus was the only way to stop the monthly pain. I started having…

War
I am 34 years old. I was just diagnosed with small cell carcinoma of the hypercalcemic type. I had an ovary the size of a grapefruit. Thankfully it had not spread. A PET scan showed the rest of the body clear. With chemo, we are taking a preemptive strike at any free floating spores. Lol, to say the least these past few…

Study on CA125 and risk of recurrence
This is a very interesting study on CA125 and risk of recurrence. http://annonc.oxfordjournals.org/content/20/2/294.full Briefly, it says that women who experienced an absolute increase in CA125 of more than 5 points over their nadir value are more likely to recur. This number was achieved by subtracting the nadir CA125…

CA125
My CA125 is still in the "normal" range, but it has gone up exactly 2 points a month, for the last 3 months. Both my local gyn/oncologist and the gorgeous NY doctor seem unconcerned. Still....I hate it when it goes in this direction. DOWN, damn number....DOWN. It's now 13. Carlene
