Help with Seeking out 2nd Opinion
My husband underwent a FSA biopsy of the para aortic node yesterday. This was after receiving elevated LDH blood test, elevated liver enzymes and two CTs showing bilateral enlarged pretracheal, axillary nodes and "prominent retroperitoneal, porta hepatis and para aortic lymphadenopathy." He also has an enlarged spleen. The…

Last Scheduled Infusion
I get R tomorrow for the 23rd time tomorrow. That ends my 2 year maintenance regime. My onc's plan is to go get a PET scan and then decide whether to simply watch and wait, do something like R-CHOP or to continue with Rituxan. Last scan the only thing was a 10% enlargement of my liver. But I am having skin lesions and a…

Hi there, I am new here and searching for answers, Here is my story. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's stage 2A lymphoma in the winter of 1997. After a staging laparonomy which the drs took out my spleen, they determined that my cancer was above the diaphram. I was treated with 5 weeks or radiation. I had no symptoms that I…

Selfie
I asked Jim where his picture went, that I missed it. I was just cartooning a picture of myself (for another purpose) and decided to show it off. It isn't really a Selfie (the 2013 Word of the Year) my husband took it with his phone last summer. As you can see, my hair was just starting to grow in well and I am sporting a…

Lymphoma advances ?
Just wondering if anybody has heard of any real advances in Lymphoma treatment. I used to hear things now and then, but lately I have not heard anything. I have heard somewhere that a cure is close, but so is the moon compared to Neptune. That's not meant to be funny. Just making a point as to what is meant by close. I…

CSN study
Please excuse the long post. A number of members have posed questions on the discussion boards or emailed me for more information about the CSN study that has been underway since November 2013. I thought it might be helpful to post the most common questions and my answers. What is the CSN survey? What is its purpose? The…

Pet-ct report, suspicious for Intrathecal lymphoma or possible inflammatory process.
Pet-ct on Jan 10 report was good until the last part. This is a new one for me. The report suggest a followup mri or spinal tap. The onc is setting up a mri, thank God, instead of a spinal tap which I've never had. It just sounds uncomfortable. Basically there was a bright spot on the scan in the L4 spinal canal. Has…

New Drug Update - Personal Experience
Howdy all! If you remember from my last post my doctor started me on Revlimid (25mg) because he saw a slight uptick in cancer activity in two small areas. I was ready for stem cell transplant however the doctor said they prefer the cancer to be decreasing in activity if not non-existant. I've already had a ton of chemo (2…

Depression
This might sound stupid but how do you tell your doctor that you have depression and you need some anti-depressants? I looked all the symptom up on the internet and all of them matched what I feel like. I am the type of person that it is hard to tell others my feeling I keep them all in side. Some people just say to come…

Can We Talk Chemo Brain?
Yesterday, I had a Rituxan maintenance infusion and talked to my Doctor, AGAIN, about my brain. He asked me some questions about last night, yesterday, last week, etc. After I answered the questions, he pointed out that I could remember these things. That was when I realized he was "testing" my memory. I told him I wasn't…

Life Is Good
2 1/2 years ago I had good reason to believe I would not ring in 2014. Here it is, January 1, 2014. I am sitting in front of a roaring fire with my wife and two dogs, all of whom adore me, drinking 15 year old single malt scotch and eating the best fruit cake I have ever tasted. We all die but the real secret is to live in…

Exactly one year ago . . .
One year ago today, I finished my final round of ABVD and I'm so happy to say that so far everything is looking good! I am sooo grateful to have had a year free of…
