Signatera & when was your first follow up scan?
As much as I initially felt confident in dad doing 6 treatments of FOLFOX instead of the 12 his oncologist recommended, now that he has finished it's so scary. His oncologist has made a few comments about the studies not being clear that 6 treatments is enough and such, but it doesn't matter, dad is dying to have his…

Hospice care
My husband allowed the hospice nurse to come. I didn't think he would, and I didn't think he understood it means no more treatment at all. In all honesty he cant have any so there is no point. So he has an infection from his drain, it has caused small undrainable abscesses to form. Basically they gave him antibiotics to…

Since my cancer came back as inoperable, with mets throughout lungs and in my spine, I have completed over 30 races of various lengths, including 10 triathlons and had…

Back ache during scan
Am I the only one that gets a piercing sharp pain in my mid back when I take a deep breathe and hold during a scan? The first few times I thought, do I have a new tumor, but I have had a lot of scans since the first time, and now I am just worried I will mess up the scan. Any hints on holding breath without backache? :)

I am not sure how many of you know that I have been trying to get started with cardio thinking that it will help with the dismal fatigue and maybe even help fight the cancer. Well, I know most people won't understand how proud I am of a mere 6 minutes at an incline on the elliptical. But was thinking some of y'all might…

I had a large colon cancer tumor removed in December. A pet scan showed that I have a metastasis in my liver and another in a lymph node. They sent me for a mri scan and it revealed that I have another 15 small lesions in my liver. They called them colon cancer metastases. Without a biopsy, how would they know that these…

And it's back ...
A recent scan was misread by local radiologists, and what they deemed as free from cancer casually stored new lymph node involvement, when reviewed by experts at my cancer center (Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. ) surgery is no longer an option; chemo has had no effect. We don't yet know where to turn. My Dr is doing…

The very latest on my condition
So after 15 months, chemo, radiation, pill chemo, planned surgery, cancelled surgery -due to mets to 2 local lymph nodes- and now chemo again, my rectal tumor still has not shrunk. They have sent my biopsy to a special lab for genetic testing to see if they can find something that will make it shrink. Meanwhile I am still…

Sorry to say
My dear hubby Jim, succumbed to this God awful disease 2 days ago. They had him off of chemo temporally for the colostomy and that stupid ulcer and it just grew so fast. Last week we were supposed to enter a clinical trial, but instead his liver went into failure. God bless the man, he worked up until the end. Thursday he…

I'm two years and 4 months past finishing my chemo. All the check-ups and blood work have come back normal. We were doing an annual CT scan so when I brought it up to my oncologist he said my numbers didn't warrant a scan. So we talked a few more minutes nd he said "what the heck, we're talking about it so let's do one if…

Am I the only one? Looking for someone with a similar experience.
In July of 2019 I went to the ER with an appendicitis. The appendix was removed. Two days later I was told I had cancer in my appendix. I was just 50 at the time so they decided to do a colonoscopy before going back in to remove more tissue to make sure they had clean margins. A very large tumor was found in my colon right…

Confused doctors
So last week we got another bad information. The oncologist said that he does not feel confident in TACE alone and that he doesnt know what kind of tumor Papa actually has. There are just some irregularities in Papas history that confuse him. I will mention them now: * 2-3years before the diagnosis Papa had a colonoscopy,…

Immunotherapy question
So do they try immunotherapy for anyone who is MSS? I was looking up trials the other day and they all had to do with mutations or MSI (of which my dad does not have).
