I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy and am finishing up 33 days of radiation and will then go on an estrogen blocker drug. Not sure which one yet. I quit smoking three years ago and went from a size 8 to a size 14 in no time. I asked my radiation oncologist if this is why I got breast cancer.…

6th chemo tomorrow
I have to face the dragon again tomorrow and I am afraid. 3 treatments left of Taxotere. It went right to my kidneys last time, but they said it wouldn't this time...probably. I have 3 tumors in my left breast they are trying to shrink in order to decide if I should have a lumpectomy or mastectomy. Tumors are shrinking,…

My first cancer and lumpectomy was in 2008. In July, 2010, I was diagnosed again and have been in various chemos solid since then. Last March the PET showed…

OT~~popcorn
A family friend showed me a frugal healthier way to make popcorn... Instead of buying microwave popcorn bags she makes her own. Take a brown paper bag (the old fashioned kind like you used to use for lunch). And two small handfuls of popcorn, no oil, and tape closed. Regular scotch tape works. Use the regular popcorn…

Breast reconstruction...
Just wondering how many of you have had breast reconstruction and what sort and what was the experience like for you. If you've had it done, are you pleased or not ?? Finally got the courage to look at my mastectomy site yesterday--oh boy!
I know way too many of you have been where I am, and I'm really not whining, just telling you how I felt and if anyone shared these types of thoughts. The only word that came to my mind was "horrific." My left chest is not only flat, but looks likes it's been excavated. The scar looks huge, mean and ugly. There is a little…

Declined chemotherapy...
Hi, This is my first post. When I was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer in 2010 I had a right mastectomy. I was very strongly advised to have chemotherapy.... HOWEVER ... the oncologists also said that even if I had chemo, the cancer would most likely come back in a couple of years anyway, so I declined it. I figured…
