I am having a lumpectomy tomorrow and I am really afraid because I don't know what to expect. Is it really painful afterwards? Hi, had my surgery yesterday and it went fine. The 4 needle sticks in nuclear med were like slight bee stings, they don't give you a numbing med for it. my sister had a needle biopsy on a microscopic spot, it came back cancer. What do they do when they are that small, do they remove them? I don't know because I am doing chemo to shrink mine because it was large. She is waiting for her doctor to schedule her with the surgeon.

Does anyone know what makes the CA test results vary within the acceptable range? My normal range is 0-38 and my results flucuate. Any ideas why? My onco is not worried, but I would feel more comfortable if my number were low, and stayed low.
