? about Sentinal LN Biopsy after the fact
Ok-I'll admit, I have been overdoing it with my left arm since my surgery on 11/30! Isn't that the first step? Admitting I have a problem? lol Today after some last-minute shopping, my arm pit area was more sore than usual. So, I felt around under there & there is a "ball" in that area. Is this normal? Or does that mean I…

Just Hello
Having a tough time this Christmas for some reason. 10 years out for me this year - I was diagnosed in 1999. So far so good. But it's still there...you know??? In reading some of the posts on here, I realize that I am not alone. You have been through what I went through. I have tried to fight my feelings about Cancer alone…

Do You See It?
Before our pastor gets to the subject matter of his sermon, he usually captures the attention of our congregation by telling a joke or funny story. I had heard this one before but found it as funny as the first time I heard it: One evening a preacher held a country-type baptism. This is where those desiring baptism are…

Ornamenet Exchange
I received my beautiful dancing (with Ned) girl with long blond hair and a red dress with black dancing shoes. I also got one of those little boxes that are great for Christmas hard candies, but only if I leave them somewhere out of my sight! I was going to fill up the little box and send it back, but then reality hit me.…

Such a bad day!
I am new to the site, and I guess I just need to vent. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer this year and had a nephrectomy in July. One kidney removed. Now it's breast cancer. My 1st lumpectomy was in November, my 2nd a week ago. Found out today the margins still aren't clean. Being told to go back for a mastectomy. I just…

Lumpectomy results are clear. I'm so happy :)
Got the news this morning ... all clear! Will meet with radiology to schedule that to start the second or third week in January. I'm still pretty tired from being sick with three different colds off and on for 8 weeks prior to my surgery this past Wednesday. That's why I haven't been online as often. Need to get my…

Drain NOT coming out before Christmas
I am disappointed! My drain is not going to come out before Christmas. I was really hoping that it would. It is so hard to sit when there is so much to do! Any suggestions as to how I can slow down the drain . . . one day I'm close to 30cc, the next day I'm back at 50cc!

Had biopsy Tuesday..results...
not cancer but atypical lobular hyperplasia. My surgeon wants to do an MRI, excisional biopsy of both areas, and have me meet with an oncologist...sounds pretty intense for not being cancer... but I guess it's a cancer precursor? I guess there is increased risk of cancer of either breast and they want to make sure nothing…

Ornaments and How Real this Virtual Site Is
I want to share about my ornaments. First, I received two. A box and and a nutcracker soldier. They came with a card from Judy (our Creampuff 91344). This is what Judy wrote: " The box symbolizes where all the good things that have helped you get to this stage of your treatment are stored, and the nutcracker guard is there…

A short discussion of the lymph system (reprise)
The lymph system is actually another circulatory system in the human body. The veinous and the arterial are well known, and pretty dynamic, since they interact with the heart. Their eb and flow are controlled by, to varying degrees, the pumping action of the heart. But the lymph system is a bit different. It takes care of…

Radiation toxicity reduced with red wine
Ok. So I'm starting radiation next Monday and my cousin led me to this article on drinking red wine before radiation treatment. Very interesting. As I have stated on previous threads...everything in moderation. That and the Europeans know how to live. What do you all think of this? I'm going to give it a try, especially…

I just finished up my 4 rounds of Cytoxan and Adriamycin, next I have 4 rounds every 3 weeks of Taxotere... and my nurse practitioner scared the crap out of me saying that maybe I should get it every week to lessen the side effects and wondered why the doctor has me going every 3 weeks for 3…

Officially Joined the RAD B's
Sorry I have been away for a few weeks. I started radiation therapy three weeks ago and things have been crazy. You know, you run to work and you run at work all day and then you have to run to get zapped. I can't tell if the running every day or the radiation therapy is what's making me so tired. I have completed 14 of my…

The bus leaves for Cancertown on the 28th and this time I'm not on it

I am scheduled for 5 boosters which I will finish (God willing) on the 28th of December. What can I expect from the boosts will they make me more tired or will I feel about…
