So Drunk
A man had been drinking at the bar for hours when he mentioned something about his girlfriend being out in the car. The bartender, concerned because it was so cold, went to check on her. When he looked inside the car, he saw the drunk's buddy, Pete, and his girlfriend going at it in the back-seat. The bartender shook his…

port today
I did not expect such pain. I've never been shot or stabbed, but I bet it's similar to the pain I'm feeling. I didn't think the scar would be as long as it is with a small one above it. It is easing up a bit. It's been in for about 10 hours now. Did anyone else feel this much pain? I'm on percoset. I guess having a strange…

Need Suggestions For Party
I am going to have a celebration after the Komen walk on the 11th and need some ideas. It is to thank everyone for participating and donating. I was thinking of a pink theme or a race theme. My sister wants to make a 1/2 way cake for me. She said she would put a finish line at one end and write something like "half way…

I am very tired and down tonight. I am overworked at my job, worried about making mistakes, trying to run my house and trying to take care of my little seven year old girl all as a single mom. I work long hours at a stressful job, cannot afford a leave of absence. Doing round two of taxol tomorrow after already having 4…

Gynelocological Care and Tamoxifen
Lots of you are saying that you have just started taking Tamoxifen or will be starting soon. I would like to encourage everyone to have consistent gynecological care before, during and after taking it. It's important for the doctor to have baseline test results and be able to follow you regularly. In 2000, as soon as my…

Bad day - just venting here
Hi everyone! Today was a big day for me - I started back at work and had my radiation simulation. On the way back from the simulation I started to cry in the car and told my husband that I wonder if this is worth it. It wasn't that anything BAD had happened but I ended up being in there for over an hour because the doctor…

Day 20 of Sue's Rads
Hello Ladies! Well, I got #20 out of the way today! I am getting warm to the touch, as I posted before, but, I am not pink yet. I do think that it is coming though soon. It is so nice to have a weekend off, just to get away from the routine daily. I think they may shorten my boosters at the end, so that will be good. The…

Useful website about alternative cancer therapy
I know some here have been curious about alternative and complimentary therapies, or just maintenance care. Sloan Kettering is a respected cancer center, so I find their information to be reliable. You can punch in any herb or treatment here and it will give you a run-down on what that agent does, how, and any warnings, or…

question about a lumpectomy
I had my pre-op today and they said that I was going to have a mamogram while they put in the guide wire to the tumor. Does anyone know how it's done? Does it hurt? They are also going to do the surgery with a local and I will be awake but "loopy." Not sure how I feel about that one.

Put Your Boobs in a Waffle Iron and Hold Your Breath, Please!
Paraphrasing here b4 it jumps completely out ouf my Vegas-exhausted Brain, but I just heard a funny funny description of Mammograms on GMA! What alternatives to taxotere are there?
I have had an allergic reaction to taxotere during the Infusion process of both my 1st and 2nd Infusions. I even had a delayed reaction to the 2nd one 2 weeks later where I broke out in itchy hives on my chest and back. Because of this, my doctor has mentioned a possible change to my regimen. I am so close to finishing my…

Sun is back in my soul....here's how i did it!
long...but bear with me please :) i finished chemo May 29, a date burned into my brain forever. I didn't expect to jump back into life as it used to be, but i certainly expected it to gradually come back. It didn't. I was withdrawn, the wall that had protected me and acted like a shield so that i could get through what I…

Ladies, it's Monday: What are your goals this week?
OK, so I thought that since we celebrate our weekends on Fridays, we could also check in on Mondays and discuss our goals for the week. I know that I feel more accountable when I tell someone my plans or write them down. This way, we're doing both. The goals can be anything, from cancer/health related to emotional, work,…

If I Only Had A...
An elderly patient needed a heart transplant and discussed his options with his doctor. The doctor said, "We have three possible donors.
