Anyone considering NOT taking hormone therapy?
I just wondered if anyone here said no to the hormone therapy, or, if after taking one or the other, you had too many side effects and just quit. I have read where some of you took breaks, but, didn't know if anyone just didn't take them. I am considering not taking tamox after rads. Thanks!

Surgeon Just Called With News!!!!
My surgeon, herself, just called and was so happy to tell me that she wanted to give me the good news herself. There was absolutely not one lymph node that was infected on the final pathology report. Also, the tumor was actuallly smaller than what she first measured (which would have made sense since she measured it from…

"What's New?"
Did anyone notice the new addition to CSN here? It is on the CSN home page, the What's New? It says it is an online patient navigator for cancer patients. Sounds like a very good thing. I am sure it will help a lot of people. So, thanks CSN!

After that round we are going to do Taxotere 1 day treatment, 3 weeks off, doing that one a total of times as well. Then…

One Year Ago Today....
One year ago today, I completed the 33rd and final radiation treatment for my breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy, followed by an Oncotype test, chemo therapy, hair loss, nail problems, aches and pains, radiation and a fatigue. BUT, here I am today with a full head of hair, healthy nails, decent eyebrows and lashes, and…

NED
Well Ladies, Some of you have supported me and some wanted me gone. Thank you to those who have supported me. I certainly appreciate your prayers and good thoughts because IT WORKED! First they not only did a mammogram but also a sonagram. Then the radiologist came in and told me that there was NO "abnormal" breast tissue.…

Roll Call: Weekend plans!
The weeks seem to go by so quickly.... Well, I am hoping to have a somewhat quiet weekend this time. The hubby has been away on business all week and he's coming home tonight. So, we'll probably have dinner somewhere and just relax. Tomorrow I'll have my personal training appointment (haven't been to the gym all week.…

Trouble Sleeping?
Okay, this is crazy. Got home from surgery on Wednesday and thought I'd be sleeping like crazy, but just can't seem to do it. Has anyone else had a problem with this. I'm not hurting much, and maybe it's the medicine. I'm on Percocet. Anyone have any kind of "bongs" with that? It starts making me tired...then go lay…

Farrah Fawcett affecting me
First of all, to all who wrote about my depression, thank you. I woke up today feeling better for the first time, so I hope it lasts. This Sunday I will be going to my first meditation class. But that's not why I'm writing: did anyone else feel affected by the death of Farrah Fawcett? Her death hit me hard, because it…

Just a short "Kenny" the dog story......
I had to take Kenny to the vet's this morning for some routine bloodwork. No problem. However, since the minute I was dx'd until now, he has not wanted to leave my side. He has slept by my bed, laid by my chair and just been glued to me. Tell me dogs don't know when something's up! Before my dx, he was a "normal" dog...not…

Taking a vacation from AIs?
I've been taking Arimidex (and Femara before that) with lower back aches and leg stiffness. Side effects are relieved by over-the-counter drugs, especially Aleve, if taken on a daily basis. My Oncologist said I could take a "vacation" from taking Arimidex - 2 days off Rx each month. He said there is a residual effect from…

Recently diagnosed, surgery pending, scared to death!
I have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer and am scheduled for surgery in early July. I am more than a bit worried about this whole process. I have cancer in one breast and an "area of suspicion" in the other so I opted to do a double mastectomy with reconstruction so I only have to dance with the devil one time. I…

We still know how to have fun!!
I just wanted to say,I think it's great that we can show that cancer never took away our sense of humors and we can still crack up and have a good time! This discussion board is definately not "gloom and doom". And I know "newbies" on here see that and probably get hope because of it! I know I've definately felt all…
