First Year Check Up
Had my one year check-up yesterday, sonogram on one side, mammo on other to have a new baseline. Dr. said there is a node in the other that has shifted because of the two reconstructions on that side (reduction and moved nipple). But, he says it hasn't grown, just shifted and that it's benign. So, I have been given the all…

Bone Deterioration
Hi All, Back again and been a while since I've logged in. Almost at 2 years after chemo and rads. Went to see my onc., 3 months ago and to my astonishment, I am no longer 5'6". Recouping . . . sort of
Okay, I had a mastectomy in September (right side), followed by surgery 10 days later for a huge hematoma, then had a port put in about a month later. Chemo followed - November through January. Last Wednesday (March 21) I had a second mastectomy (left side) and port removed. This recovery is going fairly well except for a…

Took test for heart last week showed decrease in heart function. Now we have to determine if decrease is from Herceptin, maybe radiation. Will see doctor tomorrow and take ekg…

Ten Years
It has been almost 10 years to the day that I was finally diagnosed with my own Breast Cancer. I can still remember that feeling hitting the core of my being where I knew deep inside of me that something was very wrong and didn't really have to hear it, it just was. There are times now, when I think oh how I have changed.…

bone mets?
I have a question. As many of you know I have been battling severe hip pain for the last several months. At first I thought it was residual pain from the Neulasta shots but after a couple of months went by the pain persisted. My onc sent me to my ortho. He thought that I had developed bursitis in both hips as a result of…

It's almost 80 here in SC so Kathi, I could probably actually do a happy naked dance Now that my chemo is finished. I had 1 positive sentinal node and they took 8…

AN UPDATE!!!!
We went to my mom's doctor's appointment yesterday to get the reports and pathology from the surgeon. So far the results look good but an oncologist has yet to look them over and give his/her opinion, tell us what stage she is in, and what treatments she will be receiving. All of the spaces for prognosis throughout all of…

More questions
Hi again everyone. I asked about swelling before and got some very helpful info but I don't think I was very clear as to the nature of my swelling. I had a mastectomy, clear nodes, stage 1 on January 17. The swelling is not in my arm but right under my arm...at times feels like I have a "smurf" football hanging there. It…
