Possible return of breast cancer
Four years ago I was found to have cancer in the right breast. I had that breast removed and took 6 months of chemo. Have been doing great until this summer. Two weeks ago I had a lump appear on the top of the scar. It was removed, and it was nothing more than scar tissue. Thank the good Lord! Now, through self-examination…

Psychological healing
Hi Cathy: I'm responding to our posting of 6/13...hope it's o:k: even though not exactly timely. I only joined the group recently and first read your subject today. It has been scientifially and medically proven that stress has a negative effect upon our immune systems. Of course, our immune systems are responsible to…

finding lumps
Hi Cindi: I found my lump during a self-exam. Monitored it through my next menstrual cycle then saw my Dr. My story is on my webpage. My lump was small, firm and moveable. No pain or tenderness. Even my surgeon was not expecting it to be cancerous at fine needle biopsy but it was just that. Don't wait more than one cycle…

Radiation v. Mastectomy...
The doctor told my mom that treating the BC with radiation or having a mastectomy had the same effect. He even gave odds that a mastectomy would cause cancer to be in remission 90% in that region, as opposed to radiation 80% of the time. Does anyone else hear this from their doctor? Personally, I think that radiation would…

Who has used L-Glutamine to help with Taxol effects?
Some time ago I read someone's discussion here about using glutamine to help with the bone-pain effects of Taxol. Would that person (or anyone else who has used glutamine) please respond to this message? I'm getting ready to my last treatment this Friday (yeah!), and I'm going to see if the L-Glutamine helps. A…

Chemo decision
I saw my oncologist today. She said I am a borderline candidate for chemo since my tumor was 1.5 cm. She would support it because of my age, emotional status, and tumor size. She said I would have 4 treatments of Adriamycin and Cytoxan. She went over all the possible side effects, including the heart damage and leukemia…

Questions re: Counts and more
I recently reconnected with several old friends through Classmates.com, one of whom has advanced breast cancer. I feel very uncomfortable "pumping" her for information everytime we talk - which I'm sure you can…
