I feel very guilty about complaining when I read some of the other posts, but..
I guess I'm gonna complain anyway. When does the achiness go away? I don't really have pain, just achy hands, legs, feet at times. Sometimes it almost feels like the flu. I completed six rounds of carbo/taxol/ and Avaistan in late October ('11). I am currently on Avaistan alone for maintenance. Every 3 weeks for a year.…

Started Topotecan and talked to doctor about progression today.
Well I am back from the doctor and it wasn't all bad. 1) I asked why I couldn't have the surgery to take it out and the doctor was very blunt with me. She said when they do a liver resection, that it is a very rough surgery and with my lungs the way they are, I would not be a good candidate. I totally agree. 2) I asked why…

Question about GLA
Does anyone know if it is safe to take GLA Gamma-Linolenic-Acid? I don't want to take anything that would be a hormone as my doctor told me to stay away from anything that would replace hormones. I heard that GLA helps with nerve pain and hair and nail growth so I want to take it. Thanks.

Is It Cancer Or Not??
When an abdominal CT scan showed "suspicious masses" on my mother's ovaries, in the abdominal cavity itself and in one lymph node, she was told be her primary care physician (an internist) that she has advanced ovarian cancer. One week later, the specialist/surgeon confirmed the presence of the masses but said she doesn't…

A little confused, please shed some light
I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right place. My story started in Sept. 2010 with a trip to the ER w/ burning pain in right groin area. My blood and urine were okay. They diagnosed as urinary track infection. My tummy was a little bit bloated and hard though and the ER doc asked why it was hard. I told him the only…

If you don't know what Iscador is, it is made of mistletoe extract. It is used to stimulate the immune system to help it recognize and fight cancer. Had my appointment today for CA125 and scan results. Not good. CA125 is up from 485 to 1,305 and scan shows disease progression. My oncologist began by telling me it was not good news. Ponderings
Back story...at the time of my surgery, I did not have nodes taken. They sent the suspicious ovary to pathology while I was in surgery and the initial diagnosis was benign. Three days later the final pathology report revealed cancer. My CA 125 3 weeks before surgery was 210. I get a Ca 125 every 3 weeks with my chemo. It…

Results of Pet/scan----not good
Well my CA125, which showed a 2, must have been a fluke. My pet/scan shows progression. I am pretty much devastated. They are switching me now to topecan (sp?). I will have to do it every week. I just don't know what to think anymore. I wished that I knew what to do. Most of the time I am pretty positive but this kind of…
